Hello fellow Japan watch fans,
my Name is Florian and i am from Vienna, Austria. I relatively new infected with the watch virus and mainly into vintage timepieces, the most I adore the Seikos from the ealry 70s - thats why I own a 6138 and 6139 chronograph.
Pictures will follow as soon they are requested and as soon as I am home, cause right now I have no acces
My addiction routes from the beauty some watches have and the really complex and fascinating engineering behind every movement. To restore old watches is great fun for me, allthough I am not yet able to service the watches myself. But I enjoy organizing the parts and bringing back the watches beauty. I'm not a great fan of aftermarket parts thats why I try to avoid them as much as possible.
If there are any questions feel free to ask, I appologize beforehand for my rusty written english
Greetings Florian

Hallo Florian, willkommen bei WristSushi! You're really close to Switzerland, but going the Seiko route is a clever choice - although you might find that there are Seikos out there that rival swiss brand timepieces in value/cost... So, a hearty welcome, I hope you'll enjoy yourself here. Lot's of nice folks about. Best, Jonas (from Hamburg, Germany)

Hello Jonas,
you know me, yesterday we wrote on another Forum My name is Laoshi there, and we wrote about my chapter ring of the Jumbo, never thought to meet you here, but it's very nice
We all know it's hard to resist the swiss ones, I also plan to buy some in the future but the price/use value is unbeaten with the japanese ones!
Grüße, greetings and have a nice
Florian

Hah! Right! And now that the UFO (uhrforum.de) is down, you need another watch forum to get your fix?

No actually I stumbled accros this forum quite a while ago, I met hal0eight at reddit.com/r/japanesewatches where he helped me a lot with some gaskets for my 6139, when I was browsing the subreddit I read somewhere that he has his own forum. I was a siltent reader for a while and now I wanted to introduce myself and also read the member only sections That UFO is down is just an additional reason to be here today.
Greetings

Welcome Florian. Can't wait to see pics of your watches. I still have my Dad's 6139-6002 that he was given as a gift from my Mom back in 1972!
Enjoy your stay but put your wallet and credit cards in a safe place! Bunch of enablers around here!

Yeah, now I know this, but r/japanesewatches someone spoke about beeing adrians so I was confused at first. Generally I believe a Forum is noones property since the members create it by beeing members (sure someone has to pay the servers, but philosophly said) No actually I stumbled accros this forum quite a while ago, I met hal0eight at reddit.com/r/japanesewatches where he helped me a lot with some gaskets for my 6139, when I was browsing the subreddit I read somewhere that he has his own forum.
