I am moving from San Mateo, 20 miles south of SF to 50 miles North, to Santa Rosa. Anybody from around the Santa Rosa Sonoma County area? Russian River Brewery official North Bay Wrist Sushi Meeting someday perhaps? Just tossing it out there. Right now I am mired in moving boxes

Russian River Brewery, would be a great spot for a get together. What prompted the move so far north?

Bay Area economics I suppose. Bought a place up there after the rents for both my residence and office down here were getting challenged. I can run my business out of my home so thought I could reduce my monthly cost, invest in an asset, and have a backyard. My timing with Bay Are real estate and having the income and cash to invest has always been off. The price of an entrepreneur GF likely to follow after her daughter graduates from high school a year from now. She also has a 7 year old who told me when we were in Kauai a few months ago that he wished he had a back yard like the one at the place we were staying. I am a softy perhaps. I am looking forward to the move and getting a garden going. Santa Rosa seemed to feel right and similar to where I grew up which was on an avocado orchard outside of Santa Barbara, so the Agg feel and pace of the place are familiar.Cool house. Nice neighborhood. Got some friends up there. I am a cyclist and avid hiker. My new gym cost 35% less than my current one and has two pools, tennis courts and great facilities. Think there are opportunities to grow my business there. I could think of worse copings with the economic reality to have to face.
TMI!

It's nice that you have the option to have a home based business, definitely creates flexibility. I wish you well, and please keep us updated!

Will do. The watch mods may suffer as the home remodel mods begin!

Santa Rosa is nice - my brother lives there, and I'm up in Guerneville / Sonoma a lot of weekends.
Russian River brewery is a long wait-time madhouse, but if you're holding a table I'd be in for a GTG. Usually I just take a bunch of sours and Pliny to go - restock every couple months.
GL with the movein.

I've heard the lines are long at Russian River. Let me get settled in figure out the details and I will set something up, if doable Right now its still getting utilities set up, deal closing next day or two, 6/3 move date, 6/4 replacement dishwasher and washer&dryer delivery...
