Thinking of something different for this swatch I came across. Thinking of brightening it up with orange clothes dye. But not sure if the bezel comes off. It doesn't appear to be a rotational bezel. Your thoughts? Cam

Are you going to strip out the movement firstly just dunk the watch and rely on its water resistance? I say go for it.

The movement doesn't come out without basically destroying the swatch. It looks like one of the 200m water resistant seals so I was going to dunk it. The only thing is the crystal which would get an orange hue. I'm not too worried about it because they polish easily except if I can't get the bezel off then polishing the edge of is near impossible.

How about cutting a circular piece of Contact or packing tape and putting it over the crystal?

Good idea. Might still bleed to the edge but much easier solution.

Or smearing Vaseline on to the crystal?

I would look into the stuff they use to dye vinyl car interiors. As for the crystal, painters tape pushed into the edges with your fingernail.

How about just dyeing the straps? make it 2 toned! haha! I love the orange color for straps now, it really accentuates the watch. I did dye an old G Shock years ago...purple. Looked good:)

Looked good:) The main reason for dying is the bezel and parts of the case have that gross sweat/ nicotine type staining similar to the strap. I've had great success with clothes dye with g shocks.

Dip dye for a rainbow effect? Start at one end with a dark dye. When that drys dip it a bit further in with a lighter colour, then again and again until you get the whole rainbow.

Then it would be a standard swatch watch.

It is finished. It's a bit of a dirty dye but I expect time will sort that out. Curing it in vinegar post dye. Small incident with a poorly placed battery seal. Oven was at 50deg c for 10min. Final result.
