I recently picked this up from Ramon aka the watchcollector. Advertised as a 7s26-0020 I'm guessing it's a 7002. The crown is at 4. So the standard Skx dial/movement is not aligned properly. Now to confuse things, the bezel is bi directional with 60 clicks and the glass has a Seiko 5 imprinted at 6. The Skx crown screws in perfectly.

Any movement pics would help greatly. I have a brand new 7S36 (same as 7S26 but upjeweled) to drop in if you want it let me know.
Based on the 'etched Seiko 5' crystal, as per Josh, it might be a Feiko. I do not like the dial printing which makes me think it is a fake dial adding to that theory.
With respect to the day being misaligned, I see the date is perfectly lined up. Makes me think it is a proper 4 o'clock stem movement with a day wheel that is hanging up a tad.
Anywho let's see that engine !

Definitely not 7002, as those are date only. Bi-directional 60-click bezel would be 6309 or first gen 7002, which we have ruled out. Damfino.

Aloha Sir, Cam I have one also here this is it. I thought it was a MODD but my friend here at the NEX Navy Watchmaker said it is a ....FAKE . It came with a very thin cheap Plastic Minute Track Ring also. Can not fit some part into it too. But in top shape also ....On my Fake Shelf now. Got it from my friend the Swap Meet Guy here. It came with a Skx dial and movement I just figured it may have been a 7002 case with the wrong movement and caseback. You may notice there are 2 separate dials. The first photo is what came from raymon it's a 7s26 that had a broken stem and the movement was missing screws and generally yuk. The second is a newer Skx I purchased for repair. It looks suspiciously like what longbike posted as fake. You can see the Seiko 5 symbol in the glass at the 6 o'clock area. You can just make it out in this photo. Another unusual feature is the deep spring ball click at about 10 o'clock. On any photos the click ball is at 2.

I've had a couple of older divers with the click ball at 10 rather than 2 (6309 7040, 6105 8110) It's unusual, but not unheard of. I think the biggest issue with the case you have is that it has an earlier crown at 4.0 case, but if you look at the back of the crown guard there is no depression around the crown. It's flat like the later SKX cases. I can't think of a case with this particular combination of features.

Ok. So looks like I have a genuine POS. Next question is, what should I do about it. 1- Leave it. You take a punt with Raymon whenever you buy stuff but it often works in your favor. It does have a dial and handset as well as a donor 7s26. 2- let Raymon know?

He is usually honest up front with what he sells. I would h=just utilize what ever I could and make the best of it. But of you feel like contacting him it would be up to you I would say. You ight be able to make your money back in another way with what you have. JMO Louis

There is enough I can do with the movement and watch to save contacting him. I might just Frankenstein it out and donate it to a thrift shop. Some lucky punter will think they've hit a jackpot. Charity shop wins Lucky punter wins unless they try and flip it.

If you look at a few of his BIN for diver's, they are listed as Seiko(?) . He knows enough to know these are questionable. The ones I saw were mid size divers. Maybe a few full size were in the bunch.

I'd contact him for sure. He's selling stuff still as supposed to be genuine and if it's fake then he needs to know and compensate you for it. Unless you got it so cheap that it was cheaper than a movement and dial on it's own.. but then again, i've got an old 7s movement and a few NOS dials here you could of bought off me instead if that's all you wanted.

I've ended up with some garbage from Ramon, but I didn't pay much. I have a fake 7002 here and a few trashed cases. But then, I paid $20. I wouldn't recommend buying stuff from him unless you are prepared for the occasional turkey. So I contacted him and Nick, you nailed it. Seiko ? Is precisely that. Questionable. Proceed with cation with these listings.

I've only bought from Ramon once, after seeing his name crop up quite a few times here as a pretty decent supply of parts watches. To be fair to the guy, he seems pretty up-front in his descriptions and posts reasonable pics. I guess it hangs on how it was described in the listing. I've noticed he lists a fair few as 'Seiko (?)' - given how much he sells, he must be pretty clued-up even though he claims not be a watchmaker.
I picked up a 4-watch parts lot specifically for a 7005-8062 bezel (which are hard to source). Now I'm far from an expert, but with the knowledge I've got I knew from his pics that what I was getting wasn't 4 completely original watches - wrong case-backs, ropey looking movements, misaligned dials, etc. gave me the clues I needed. But the part I wanted was there, and turned out to be just what I was after.
I'd agree Cam - some caution is needed - but I'd buy from him again if I needed to; he's far from the worst seller out there.

I was cautious to even post anything negative about my experience. I'm not disappointed in what I got, more that I didn't notice the mis aligned dial. I always buy expecting the worst. I've definitely had way more positive finds than ordinary outcomes with his watches.

I like Ramon. I buy from him. He never intentionally describes falsely. He peddles everything from OK to total sh!+. Ever wonder where do all the good watches he must run across go? He sure doesn't sell them under TheWatchCollector ID. Funny, huh?
Failing to describe the items as a modus operandi allows him to hide behind a wall of "I don't know" but he knows way better than he lets on.
On the flip side, there is a legion of ebayers for whom this is the charm in the whole thing - did I just buy a steal or a POS ? Some folks like how the suspense mounts until you get the item -so much anticipation ! Frankly it's not my cup of tea.
But it is what it is and I will buy again when the parts are needed. No emotion. Until I get it, I brace for the worst. And the price is right.
God bless him he makes a ton of money and serves our hobby well.

I've bought from Ramon a few times. I mostly am looking for parts. A movement or two will keep me stocked with screws, diafix clips, and date jumper springs. Occasionally, you will get a case and dial worth saving like this 6602. This: To this: I never expect anything but a few workable parts so I don't get disappointed.
