Sushi mates....
Couple of random questions.... Does the inner pulsation ring on the 6139 rotate? If so, why? And, will a pepsi Pogue tachy bezel fit on the 6139 pulsation - cause that would be a filthy awesome mod.
Thanks

The inner ring does rotate. Why? good question. I don't know if the outer bezel from a 6139-600x will fit.

Member Tritto posted this during a heated debate over the original intent of the 6139-6020's purpose. Fantastic catalog shot: I continue to think the only sensible logic is this: - Say a factory is turning out doughnuts on a conveyor belt. How many are going by you wonder? If it's how many per minute you need, start the stop watch, count 10 doughnuts go by, stop it, read the number of doughnuts per minute on the inner bezel. - If it's more like how many finished cars are coming off the assembly line, ROTATE the inner bezel so the dot at "zero" is aligned with the tip of the minute hand. Wait for 10 cars to come of the line. Then read the number of cars per hour on the inner bezel. My theory has caused widespread disharmony and made me an outcast in the 6139 community but it's the only way I see this makes sense. Thank you Camrok for naming it the "Doughnut SpeedTimer." Josh maybe you can claim it and apply for a Registered Trademark

The outer bezel from a 600x will fit onto a 601x, but I've not yet seen one fitted to a 602x. It's an interesting idea. I might even give it a shot on the weekend. It could have looked quite good on this 601x I picked up, if the crystal and dial weren't trashed.

Outer bezel will not fit. Pogues use a 330 crystal, Pulses use a 350 crystal (same as the one in the 6138-8020 and Navigator Timer).

That's true. I was thinking it was the 325T that the bellmatic uses.

Double tachy but what the heck it's flashy. Wait, don't you already own a 6139-601X with a gorgeous blue dial ?

That's the one that received your dial HiBeat. It came with the bezel, which I have stashed away for a rainy day. Here's how it finished up:

HiBeat, I think Ive found proof of your heretical donut production counter theory. The 7A38 has a tachy bezel with the same scale as the above 6012 (and presumably the 602x if I could be bothered checking). Check out the following page from the 7A38 manual.

I wonder if anybody ever used all the funky features of these watches, seems to me learning how to use them and then setting them up would be more trouble that it's worth, no use to me these days I find it hard enough to read the time, need to use a loup to be able to read all the other stuff. I still like them they look great even if I can't use them!

That is if you could even figure it out if you had been using it as a 24 hour hand www.seikowatches.com/support/ib/pdf/SEIKO_RCR07.pdf
