I have been drawn to these lately, but can't find much intel about them. Anybody here know the history behind these watches - like, why are they called Night Rollers to start? Were they around for a long time, and when was Citizen turning them out, and what is the "magic light"?

Never heard of them. Got any pics? Sorry .. couldn't resist. Ah! That came in three model levels; domestic, dress and executive. This one seems to be a well beaten domestic model.

From first glance it looks to be G-Shock territory. With a fancier case and band. I would expect the magic light to be auto back light. They look similar to the promaster digital range. Image courtesy of google images and some kind person who placed the image in some far away and unrelated part of the web of the wide world! Imagine this with a dot matrix display, depth meter and rechargeable lithium battery.. Citizen Cyber Aqualand NX. If you want to follow an even deeper rabbit hole.
