Went to make a purchase and when doing Paypal(after commiting to buy) I get a notice telling me my spending limit has been reached.
I only have a credit card setup. They are trying to hijack my banking information by forcing me to upgrade. Ain't gonna happen!
Looks like no more watch(or other online) purchases unless I happen to be at a garage sale.

My wife was buying something inexpensive (couple of dollars only) on Paypal, and was hit with the 10% tax +$10 admin fee!!! In Australia, any Internet purchase under $1,000 was tax free. I believe you are not the only customer eBay is about to lose.

Just open a savings account and link PP to that. You don't keep any money there. I hope nobody is actually using primary accounts for PP. That's just asking for trouble.

Phukem dead BS.gif Maybe a dumb question. Is P/P saying that regardless of your P/P balance, you can't issue further payments from it without giving them a bank source?

There is no balance; my account is simply linked to my credit card. The stupid thing is they say I can get verified with my bank account or my credit card but don't offer the option of getting verified with my card. They will not be getting any of my banking information; period. Phukem e108

I don't understand the harm in having a dedicated account linked to PP. If you're worried about personal information, your credit card probably has more personal info than a simple savings account.
For all the complaining about ebay and pp, I have to say for the most part I don't mind their services. The only time I was annoyed was when they froze my account after every sale for like 2 weeks after each transaction. that pissed me off as it was completely unjustified. Lasted for about 6 months and then out of the blue just stopped.

The less personal info we give out the less likely it is to be stolen. It's this attitude of 'they probably already have your info' that has given the governments the power to strip mine every social media; every e-mail host and anything else you might have given your personal info too. I am not going to make it any easier for them to further erode my right to privacy.
