Seiko 8M25 Movement

Any substitute movement to replace these? Cousins show it as obsolete and can't find anything on the bay, looking at a non goer but not worth wasting dough if you can't replace/get parts.

Nope. Dead end parts wise. They have no interchange with the 7T series.

I found a nos movement (8M26 actually) on yahoo.jp but I think I got lucky as I've not seen one since. So I have a spare non working one if there's a part you need I may be able to help.

Thanks for that pip, decided to take a chance on it, got it bundled with a couple of other Seiko's at a reasonable price, won't know what the story is until I get it, you are always hopeful that it is just that someone didn't know how to do the reset after changing a battery.

But that is pushing my luck as far a quartz go, so if I get stuck I will PM you and see if you can help out.

8M25-7030 arrived today, looks reasonable no battery corrosion - fitted new battery showing some signs of life, runs in time mode but can't set time, but at least both hands work so it looks like the motors are OK, a service and clean up may do the job - fingers crossed!!!

Let us know, interested in seeing it and how it pans out. I wore mine yesterday for the first time in a while.
