I went to my friend's house and helped to install a motorized awning. That part was pretty easy but we had to move and rewire a security light. All that went well until we turned the power back on. One of the two lights(they are wired in parallel) would not light up. We checked and double checked our wiring and could not see anything wrong. Finally; while I was standing below the fixture; I spotted the problem. The center tab that contacts the nub on the bottom of the light bulb was missing. It had broken off! No problem; we went to Home Depot and found an identical socket chinathumbsup.gif
With the awning working perfectly and a new socket for the security light in hand; we went searching for a burger and brew.
Well; finding a new light socket was a synch compared to finding a place to eat!
We initially headed to a popular local pub and when we got there; it was closed for renovations
So we headed off to one of the newest places in town; a Cactus Club; only to find that they were still doing wait person training and not yet open to the public. Not a total waist since we got to mingle with about thirty beautiful young ladies all dressed in black; short hemmed skirts and boob enhancing tops woohoo-dancing-banana-smiley-emoticon
Two more stops to old haunts also turned out to be a bust.
Finally my friend remembered an establishment next door to where he had one of his gum ball vending machines placed(long since stolen).
We found a place to park almost in front of the entrance; good omen or what!
Turned out to be a really good omen. The menu was ample; the beverage selection was awesome and the decor was super relaxing.
I ended up having one of the finest burgers I've enjoyed in a long time. It was a cool 1/3 lb of Black Angus beef smothered in fresh mushrooms and thick cut bacon with lettuce; red onion; fresh tomato and a whiskey flavoured BBQ sauce that was absoloutely the perfect garnish.
Oh yeah; the beverage...a pint of Phillips Growop Citra IPA. I have to tell you that this is one of the freshest most flavourful craft brewed IPAs I've had yet. My buddy who is a local swill connoisseur really enjoyed this one!
All in all; not a bad day laugh1.gif
