The Swatch brand polarises most watch enthusiasts. Be fun to share Swatch hit & misses. I picked up this Swatch touch today. It baffles me who would think to put the boldest number set as the seconds. It's clumsy to use and relatively useless. The Automatic Chronograph on the other hand... amazing.

Fail. Telling the time shouldn't be a a process...I actually have NFI what that says. Where do I start with SWATCH fails? If it includes ETA movements, I've seen some real shitters... Don't get me started on the piss poor SELLITA clones, they are total garbage. As for pure swatch...Sistem51. Only the Swiss could make something so shit the Chinese would sneer at it. watchguy.co.uk/review-a-trip-inside-the-swatch-sistem51-eta-c10111/ (Thanks Christian)

I owned a few in the 90's and always liked them. This one had a dead battery, which I replaced and gave it a clean around the battery hatch / compartment.

Bet it's comfortable and nice and reliable. An easy pick it up and throw it on. I recognise that range. The made a few that remind me of the omega speedmaster. Their metal bracelets quality is very good, wear well and are comfortable and solid. Here is a better pick of my Swatch hit. It's not my favourite automatic chronograph but considering it's a 6 hour counter with a sapphire crystal. I'm pretty happy. I don't like the hour and minute hand, they could be a bit bolder and I think it would improve its look and use ability.

I'm very happy with mine this was one of those "I have to have one of these" watches as soon as I saw it. Its a shame you can only get a glimpse of the movement through the display back.

I would like to add to this thread with another Hit & Miss... This is a large watch at 55mm and it is funky. This is a Swatch Beat that was introduced with 'Internet Time'. Thankfully neither the watch nor the new time standard caught on Aside from that it does have full chrono functionality with some cool displays. Thank goodness it is all plastic or it would stretch your arm like an an 18 lb bowling ball

You definitely chose the best one. I like that hand set better. I wonder if they have the same size hands as the valjoux. I'd be happy to swap it out. Is your case back the same as this? Have you ever adjusted yours? My beat error is out and could be adjusted down to >60sec per day. @penguinbce how often do you wear it in public. I might have to send you the touch for added wonder into the possibly drug induced behaviour of the Swatch design team.

Cam, I wore it in public once and never even got a comment...and I was in a short sleeved t-shirt! How big is the touch? I actually kind of like that 'alien font'. If you like BIG I could be persuaded to do a trade Yes I have the photocopied instructions for the 'Beat".

I kinda admire the Sistem 51. I believe they have a 90 hour power reserve and really close to COSC accuracy when brand new, too.
If I could ever find a non-plastic, non-neon, non-small, man's model, working (because you can't fix them) Sistem 51 on ebay cheap enough I'll give it a whirl.
