"One interesting thing about the watch (which I just learned from another watchmaker) is the meaning of Global Sales Co (2) Two Jewels Unadjusted ink-stamped on the circuit and lightly stamped on the inside of the case back. This was evidently the beginning years of the grey market, and Global Sales Company was at least one of the distributors who would amass large quantities of NOS, unsold Seikos and ship them to other markets, without original boxes and/or papers. That would make sense then to have an Arabic day-wheel watch turn up in the USA, before the advent of the internet age (my source of the watch probably got it years ago)."

In the original thread (from 12 years ago!) on the old N54 thread, I notice there was a response from a young slim and dapper chap with a very sunny disposition. Went by the name of Tyrone Jenkins as I recall. Wonder what happened to him? |

Went by the name of Tyrone Jenkins as I recall. Wonder what happened to him? Getting old sucks. Trust me on that one. If I recall (don't trust me on that one) it MIGHT have come from a watch lot from Ramon. It was a dress watch and I don't recall what watch MOD it ended up in or if I traded it to my local watchmaker extraordinaire in some sort of deal. |
