... or 1/16/2018 for our friends in the colonies! The great thread about the Sharkey a day or two ago made me get my Sharkey Tuna out of the box. Well, it’s got a Seiko heart even if it’s not the real thing. Anyway, I like it and that’s the main thing.

Orient 469 calibre ‘World Time’ From (I think) 2007. I haven’t had the back off this to see what’s under the hood but believe that the 469 started off life as a Seiko 7005 movement. If so, there’s obviously been some refinement over the years to change it to day/date.

Not every day you eNd up behind a horse at the lights. Well, here they always try to run you over when you try to cross the street... Might have to something to do with a) being at the city center where all the rich snobs are driving around and b) being located right across the street from the editorial department of a big german car magazine... ...mostly, we get Teslas, though And at one time in the summer, we have "Harley Days" were 🎶 The city is alive with the sound of tailpipes... 🎶

Wow Steve, that is a stunner! A 5625-8000 for me today. Thanks pip. The photo doesn't expose all the flaws. Unfortunately the case seal is fairly pitted and there is a hint of patina on the dial by the center wheel and date window, but you need to look close. The movement came up nice though after I replaced a chipped jewel. The quickset even still works!

Retro madness. My Memostar mechanical alarm. One of my personal favourites, these were made by Sicura and have a lovely looking manual wind movement , this one is signed Sicura. I also have another of these which is unsigned on the movement.
