Came across this pic earlier. I want! Love the S hand. Can anyone translate the text?

The text reads:
Prospex 1968 Mechanical Diver Reissue Mechanical SBEX007
This photo confirms that the Seiko logo on this model is going to be printed. I think it is disappointing that a $400 Prospex model can get an applied logo but a high end Limited Edition priced at many multiples of this only gets a printed logo when the original model they are replicating had an applied logo. Would make the dial look so much better with a golden applied Seiko logo.

Agreed with Anthony. They really don't seem to listen. That insert looks poorly executed, too. Almost aftermarket looking.
What are the numbers for these and is it confirmed they're limited? I assume they are.

I wonder if pip got his picture mixed up? His description sounds like one of those 50th Anniversary Seiko 5's with the "S" second hand. - Thomas

Is it possible that each letter is applied individually?

The 50th ones have a ‘5’ on the end of the second hand, well mine does anyway but it’s a Seiko 5 so that would make sense. I’ve not seen one with a ‘Seiko S’ I don’t think but that would be cool.

I think this picture is too low resolution and too poorly lit to make any judgements about the dial or the insert. I would point out that even the best photographs I have seen of the SLA017, whether catalog or owner, do not capture its true aesthetic qualities. While not my cup of tea it is gorgeous in the flesh. I would hope that this one will be as well.

Shouldn't it have a countdown bezel if it is reissue of the 6159-7000?

Gents I have feelers out with my GS AD but I gave him SLA025. Now I see a different model number SBEX007.
I suppose it will be an LE that has a model number in the USA and something different in other parts of the world, much like the SLA017 also goes by SBDX019.

As you point out the 62MAS reissue was released in the JDM under SBDX019 but for international markets it was sold as the SLA017.
If you look at the history of the leaks you will notice the first ones all came from Hong Kong and Thailand but the latest leak featuring the image at the start of the thread came from Japan.
I guess it will depend on where your AD is located if you have given them the correct model number or not.

Yes the countdown bezel was an option but it was not available at launch. The 6159 with regular bezel was the first version the countdown edition was available a few months later.
As this new model will be a reissue of the original it makes sense to have the regular bezel and not the countdown type.
The 6215 did launch with a countdown bezel which is why I had suggested that they may have been thinking of the launch of that model.
