Not sure if people have spotted these yet but there are a couple of new Landmaster automatic GMT models that have been announced. Seems a little strange to drop these before Baselworld and not wait to announce them but I have given up trying to understand their strategy. These are using the new 6R64 caliber and come in both a regular release SBEJ001 and a Limited Edition SBEJ003 model. Both have Ti cases with Comfotex and are 200m WR. The SBEJ003 LE model with golden accents will have 500 units produced. www.seiko-watch.co.jp/collections/en/prospex/SBEJ003The SBEJ001 will be the standard model. www.seiko-watch.co.jp/collections/en/prospex/SBEJ001

Given how rarely I use a compass I couldn't really see the bezel coming in handy... seems like a 24hr bezel would make more sense. Mind you, I regularly wear my SBBN033 saturation diver in about a meter of water down at the local pool, so perhaps I could buy myself one of these and wear it whilst using Google Maps

I just can't warm up to the hands or the dial design.

I just can't warm up to the hands or the dial design. Not a fan, but I'm not a fan of most modern styles. That said, these renderings don't typically do justice.

Don’t love either. Looks like they either got rid of the Landmaster name or these aren’t Landmasters as there is no mention of it on dial or caseback

Love the idea, not a fan of the execution.

The SBEJ003 is actually the Landmaster 25th Anniversary model. The Japanese press release can be seen here: 25th Anniversary of the birth of the real adventure watch "Land Master"Seiko has also created a Landmaster micro site with details on the history of the models. History of LandmasterIt does seem very strange that they would not brand Landmaster on these models.

Presumably they just want all sport models to be under the Prospex banner now, hence why upcoming Tuna models and the green LE MM300 have the Prospex X on the dial where 'Marinemaster' used to be.
