I think it would be a good idea to set the starting time for posting a video to the prequel day, don't you?
Not that I really believe that my video would get that much more views in the next two weeks, but with viewing counts in the double digits, it could be the edge needed.
Generally speaking I wouldn't encourage "best X" challenges, as participation should be key, not advertising your video somewhere.

The reason I placed the share and hit count challenge in was from the fun I had last year in sharing this comp with people outside the forum.
My work colleagues and friends.
I was using the hit count as a carrot to get people to share externally.
It was a great conversation when people asked how the comp was going.
Not every challenge is going to suit everyone and the video challenge had often been neglected in previous years by many contestants. The extra point for hits was to encourage participation in the video bonus.
I agree participation is number 1 agenda.

Ive updated the rules- I wont be adding an extra point for most hits. As you said- participation is the key- I would however encourage everyone to share your hobby- others will be surprisingly interested. I think it would be a good idea to set the starting time for posting a video to the prequel day, don't you? I was going to wait until 11:45 PM tomorrow night to try and snipe a bonus point at the last minute since all of the non US leaders would already be in the next day disqualified to try for a last minute ditch effort for a point to try for the tie.
So I guess now I will have to post my triple analog scrubbed attempt.

Made with some program that predates Y2K (that's right bitches) which I had never used before and had to figure out
Incorporated old school same era "screener movies" leaked via IRC before after that Napster and now torrent shit.
There might be some 8mm film scrub going on to mix it up and throw them off the trail.
And maybe some fake background noise added so as not to reveal my location.
You won't be hearing any foghorns or trains or church bells. I have watched enough episodes of Law and Order to know better.
And maybe some auto tune on the audio.
Maybe I can win a directorial award or editing award at some film festival for it.
