Instead of 500m, what about using the number of days/days the forum has been in existence? How about 5.5y?

By the time this project gets completed it’ll be pretty accurate. Or, we could go with the number of members who use the “Like” button and don’t reply?

Let's have the script make sense or at least reference som inner secret of WS

Since we are throwing stuff at the dial; would it be that difficult to fix some round markers aka Sushi Roll models on this one time project? They wouldn't have to be authentic; just reasonable 3D semblances of the real thing...

Late to the party. Just read the thread- am I correct in thinking we still need a crystal, band/bracelet. ?crystal retainer. ?chapter ring. ?bezel.
I can donate a Seiko srp77x soft diver strap. Or contribute to a double dome Sapphire crystal.

Hey Cam, I believe we may need a crystal, Gaskets ? Strap, Buckle, Springbars, Still deciding on hands Dial spacer ? Zeke may add to this as I didn't have a look at the case and parts he sent along, I just forwarded them to Andy. Feel free to make yourself at home with this project

I like the layout better this way, but feel the wrist sushi text is placed too high up on the dial.. making the whole dial unbalanced.
Maybe using larger letters and moving the upper two lines of text down about 3/8 inch.
Bottom fist punch should be made larger and that combined with the aforementioned changes will weight the dial properly.
Another option altogether would be to center the fist punch completely on the dial..and make the design larger.
Other text could be in complimentary colors and placed appropriately on the dial.
Also, I was really liking the look of the green 500 on the first design..sort of reminded me of Kawasaki's zx7 paint scheme.
Anybody agree?

I agree with and appreciate your comments. This is a rough comp and not a final. I don’t want to invest too much time into a concept until we feel we’re in the ball park. Keep em’ coming folks.

After chewing on some of your suggestions and feeling the dial needed to look cleaner and more refined I manipulated the artwork and layout. I think this is what we’re after? Please note the h/m hands and sweep are now as they would appear on a 6105. These are the hands we have on hand for the project hence the new addition. Please chime in with your thoughts on these revisions folks. I agree with aquaman...drop the Wrist Sushi text a bit lower an maybe increase it 5 to 10% and see how that looks. As for the green 500, I think you've just about homed in on the real colour. Maybe just a touc of whatever to make it look like really niceely aged 6309 dials.

Just another thought on this and so you know where I'm coming from...
Wrist Sushi text needs to be enlarged because when it's moved down on the dial, it will fit the dial width better.
But I just thought of this and I like the idea..move the wrist sushi text down, enlarge or stretch it some, but what if the W were enlarged and then each letter that follows gets a little smaller and then works back up to the size of the W when we get to the last letter in sushi?
So, the first couple letters would be oversized and then the text starts to shrink some and then back up again...this would help fill some of the dead space on the dial and I think it would then be perfectly balanced...like a stretched bow tie...and this look will also complement the chopsticks theme below..see how the tips of the chopsticks are high and low then come down at a sharp angle where they meet in the center.
How does that sound?
Mike

Not sure if I missed something here, but did you mean to write 'Jeweles" rather than Jewels?

So aside from what we all agree needs to be addressed do you like the overall design treatment of this dial better compared to the initial version Pete? Oh Absolutely!

Ok, right out of the gate- I have no intention on making shrouds to fit TSTd cases nor will I mill your case to fit a shroud. I really dig TigerUKs work and don't want to step on his toes, so please don't ask. This being a group project and not for profit I don't have a problem with this one. ....and I'll probably have a shrouded something or another on my wrist before too long! This is fun stuff! So here we go... Piece of 2" 316 in the lathe Starting with a boring bar I face it clean and bore the ID to fit. From there I say some magic machinist words(being a family forum I won't repeat them here), bounce it around the shop a bit, mix some drills and endmills into the pot, put it back in the lathe to part it off. Wala- tuna shroud! Still have to cut notches on the top so you can actually use the bezel and it should be good to go. Like I said, this kind of stuff is great fun and I always learn stuff. Would do things a little different next time setup wise. Being a first article, there's room for improvement so I just might try again... Next up is a case back. With any luck I can have something to ship off by the end of the weekend. Stay tuned.... 😎👍
