There have been a few reviews written already about this watch, all of which appear to be positive. This one is leaning positive as well. This was on pre-order several months ago so I shot off an email to Maria Ivanova at Borealis and three days after they started shipping this one showed up. Very nice leather or faux leather case included a NATA strap, warranty etc. This item arrived in a well wrapped package with a lot of padding. Reminded me of some folks I know.
The bracelet -
Well made, far superior IMHO than those offered by Seiko or other brands at this price point which is less than $500. Probably equal to Hamilton in quality but far better than most micros offer. Large bracelet with ample room for the heavy weights or bar bell crowd. Although I have large wrists (not 8" anymore due to illness) I am guessing someone with a 9" wrist could wear this comfortably. There is a real working and simple diver clap. Just push in the tabs on the clasp and you have a 1" extension for those who like to wear rubber, either in the water or just around the house.
Lume-
For the lume heads, plenty to be happy about here- Photos of lume were taken after 15 minutes in sunlight and 30 minutes after being in the dark.
Lume compared to the Revue Thommen 300 meter diver which is pictured below. Both watches were subjected to the same conditions.
The case is not as bulky as the Revue Thommen nor as some other dive watches I have owned. Sits on the wrist comfortably, no visible gaps between the case and my wrist. The case itself houses a STP1-11 automatic movement, which is supposed to be equivalent to the ETA 2824-2. A double domed sapphire crystal with A/R coating inside makes this watch easy to look at in glaring conditions.
I chose the Black Dial with Pencil Hands, No Date & C3 X1 Lume. The Large block markers are used at the 12,3,6,9 o’clock with large round markers fill in the rest
The bezel is 120 clicks, ceramic and tight, no shim noticed and I am picky about that.
This is a well made watch and if you want to purchase a watch that looks good, feels good on the wrist without breaking the bank I would recommend you take a look at this one. All in all I enjoy wearing this watch and you might also.
