Thankfully the original lume on mine has lasted well. That looks great, like a new watch!

Which one would you pay more for? Which one would you rather wear? or Option B obviously looks much nicer and a great job on making it look vintage.

Thanks for all the replies and pictures.
Thanks to the recent update, Tapatalk won't let me post any more pictures for the month! It says I exceeded my limit and to upgrade to VIP for a fee. Funny, I'll spend a fortune on watches but won't pay $4.99 for a year of VIP Tapatalk I'm sure I'll relent.
Until that time, I'll have to wait till October 1 to post my pictures. But I'm leaning towards re-luming or, finding a better condition "Proof" dial to swap out and keep the old one unrestored.

I've not come across an upload limit on Tapatalk yet. Did it say how many photos or what the MB limit is?

I've not come across an upload limit on Tapatalk yet. Did it say how many photos or what the MB limit is? Believe it or not it's letting me post now. No more error message. But it asks if I want my picture to be small, medium or large, but large requires VIP membership. So I did medium in the WRUW thread for today.

suntzu. Perhaps that's why I haven't come across it - I usually choose medium.

My photos are just links to my Imgur account - rather than hosted by Tapatalk. Perhaps that's why I don't get messages about limits etc.

Which one would you pay more for? Which one would you rather wear? Collectors are a funny breed, the same people that would say they want option 1 (all original unpolished, untouched), will go and buy option 2. They will tell their wife or girlfriend they look great without makeup, but like it when they do wear makeup. Moldy and unstable lume besides being unattractive will eventually fall off hands and markers onto the dial. You could coat it but it doesn't look any better. Do I want original, untouched, fresh from factory lume? HELL YEAH! But the reality is that unless the prices drop dramatically, I will end up getting a 6105 or 62MAS in moldy ass condition and relume it. As car dealers will tell you - you can't sell a dirty car. And if you do, it will be for much less than you would like. Same applies to watches. How many relumed watches sell for more and quicker? They will probably be on the market for 48 hours before being sold. If it's patina then leave it, if there's more mold than lume then relume.

If it's patina then leave it, if there's more mold than lume then relume. Perfect summation.
Tomorrow I will have pictures. In the sun, the dial looks great but the hands look moldy. In the shade, it all looks moldy. So I am looking to relume most likely unless I can find another Proof dial in better shape. I paid $840 for it and the entire watch is original. I have yet to see an all original Proof dial for sale for anywhere near that price. It even has the red dot on the seconds hand but it fell off and is on the dial.

Ok ladies here’s the watch. All original Proof/Proof. I took a couple of seriously zoomed pics in direct sun and then the shade in natural light. To relume or not to relume? Ewww yuck! Hahaha j/k. I don't mind the dial lume so much but the hands have gone too far for me.

I think the choice is clear for the hands. If the hands get re-lumed then the dial looks off, so the whole thing needs it. Or look for better original replacements.

Are you are getting a service and new crystal? You could relume whilst the watch is open and enjoy wearing it for a bit until a better watch or dial and hands comes along. You will at least get your money back on your investment and dare I say a decent profit.

I'm hoping those are easy fixes. It keeps time, hacks and changes date perfectly. I'm going Friday after work to my trusted guy. His lume work is excellent. He can get any necessary parts. I have a NOS crystal to replace with and will keep the old original.

If it were mine: service, crystal, gaskets, and relume dial/hands/pip.

Re-lume hands to color-match the dial.
