Following Pip’s lead, a little Swiss as well. Stay safe to those affected by weather conditions and happy veteran’s day to those in the States. Now that’s a helluva watch !

Now that’s a helluva watch ! Thank you very much! It's from 1984. I got a great deal on it from a seller in Japan. All original, no bracelet. My watchmaker in Jersey that I swear by serviced the movement, new mainspring, reverser wheels, new OEM Rolex crown and crown tube, re-lumed the hands in white since mold was slightly present, gently polished case, and hand polished fluted bezel. I put it on a DeBeers alligator strap. Running like a champ. Has Rolex stamped case back. Still during the time when Tudor shared many Rolex parts. I can't afford my favorite solid gold DayDate so this is the next best thing! Sort of like my Tudor 79280 chronograph. I can't afford the Daytona so the Tudor is the next best thing. Great watches.

We’ve got the opposite problem here in the UK - rain of almost biblical proportions 💦 New arrival for today - Orient Mako XL. I decided my collection needed a bit of colour, and this was just too good to pass up. For the cost, these are just fantastic value for money. Got a Leroy Jethro Gibbs vibe going on there  Not a clue what that means...

Got a Leroy Jethro Gibbs vibe going on there  Not a clue what that means... It's the fictional name for the actor who plays on the TV show NCIS. He's a special agent who works for the Navy investigating crimes. He wears an Omega which looks like your Orient. I don't think he means you're as handsomely awesome as Jethro

Wearing this while remembering my father who served in WWII and thankfully came home to live a full and productive life... He lived to almost 100. Died in his sleep Feb 2005. Seen here on his 99th b'day enjoying a rum and coke He along with his 4 brothers and 2 sisters all served in the Canadian forces during WWII. His older brother was a motorcycle dispatch rider in WWI then an intelligence officer in WWII. He was blown off his motorcycle a couple of times and was gassed but managed to survive to a ripe old age. I thank them and all those who never came home for the relatively peaceful and safe life I enjoy today.

Will be heading down to the cenotaph shortly to observe Remembrance Day, thinking and thanking all who served. In particular I am remembering Uncle Larry who perished on July 23, 1944 while on a training mission off the English Coast. Larry (in the middle) with some of his crew; With his father, a veterean of WW!; And of course Dad, pictured in the middle who we lost 20 years ago yesterday. Being an airforce brat, thought I'd wear something blue... Thanks and God Bless all your family. Thanks big guy and God bless all those who perished, both civilian and military alike.

We're both so fortunate to have our fathers after such a horrific event. One thing I learned from Dad is that the glory card is a dangerous card to play. It doesn't take much to intoxicate the young. Remembering all those who served and continue to serve is both a privilege and a duty.

Pretty epic fires in my area. 72 active fires in our state of NSW and a rough count of 1 million hectares burnt over the weekend. This one 7km from my place. One if the smallest ones. We are bracing ourselves for a state wide state of emergency with temps and winds expected to make things much worse. There is an apocalyptic vibe walking out if the hospital today. Stay safe any fellow New South Wales members. Pretty scary stuff there Cam. Here's hoping for some real relief for you and your countryman.

Aloha Sir, Pete I am glad that You Dad lived through all that and got to see Hi Family again and continued his like and enjoyed it too. He looks like a Man of Great Statue to have been known. A hundred years of age is a very long journey to have been through. My Dad also made through WW2 and returned home and lived a good life till ...... 1999. My Dad served under ...... General George S. Patton ll and was in the ... 11th Armored Division ( Old Iron Sides ), 3rd Army / 41st Tank Division .... that came out of ... Fort Knox , Kentucky. He was in ..... The Battle of The Bulge and also one of the .... 5 men that was in the tank that broke down one of the ..... Death Camps Gates and they were decorated for that personally by General Patton. All these Men and Women were the very reason that the rest of us later on in life did continue in the services of our Countries and more generations continue it on everyday. Thank you for posting this and letting all of us know just who your Dad was and his accomplishment's through life. Aloha Louis
