Well, I shouldn't really be wearing this one today. It's been fully serviced but was not quite back together yet. The crown seal is gone and the crown it's self is somewhat crushed due to my own clumsiness. The case back seal is missing as it crumbled away upon removal. I ordered parts, but the order was canceled because I was not in the industry. I've gone about getting the parts differently, so cross your fingers for me that it works out as they are very difficult to come by.
This is my Grandmother's Bulova International Model #160105 of 1968 and I had to wear it becuase today is her Birthday! She passed away in 2004, at the end of a very long and storied life. She grew up in Austria with gas lamps and horse drawn carriages. Later she fled Hitler during WW2 and landed in India, then New Zealand, and finally Sydney Australia.
In her lifetime so much changed. Mankind made so many technological advances it boggles the mind. Just think, she saw horses moving freight in the street as a child and the Space shuttle taking telescopes into space in her later years. She used to wait weeks for telegrams from America but was emailing me before my Mom could even figure it out with instant replies from her Grandson. Watches matured from pocket to wrist sized, and then to electric, quartz, and even became simple but small computers that would have filled a room when she was in University.
What a life! She was a great Woman of service in her community and anyone's dearest friend who wished that of her. Intelligent, world traveled, and sharp as a tack when her body failed her at 92.
Happy Birthday Mutz!
And Happy Birthday to camrok too! (Sorry I missed that initially )

Is that Jethro Tull Aqualung? Spot on. My wife made a cushion cover out of an old T shirt.

Last day at TNJ.
I guess I wasn't "Economically Viable" enough for them to work with me after almost 5 years.

Is that Jethro Tull Aqualung? Spot on. My wife made a cushion cover out of an old T shirt. You lucky! I should actually listen through them again. Thick as a brick and Aqualung definitely have their moments! I think it's 10 years since I have listened through their early stuff. They have a big place in my heart and really shaped me when I was in my teens! EDIT: And happy b-day camrok. You and my father share the day!
