OK It is October 7th (somewhere) Day 7 of the October WRUW daily theme. Today's theme is “Wear a digital or analog / digital watch”
Not sure why I didn't edit this one out from the original list
Quartz watches have no Soul
Digital watches are lower than that
Not sure what is lower than 0.
Maybe a negative number.
But if you multiply (add together) a negative (digital) number by a negative (analog) number or so I had been told in gubment public school it magically somehow becomes positive by some round earth alien Voodoo
I know I have one "Rocket Scientist" digital watch somewhere (will share the story later) if I can find it.
And some digital AI interweb shit crashed my browser and erased my post as I tried to expose the truth the first time I tried to post today's WRUW

Unfortunately my both Other Arnie and Arnie are long gone (I’m contemplating getting a modern one as there is a appealing discount at the AD)… and so are the 0634 trio (posting a pic as nostalgia struck me…) Wearing my Rubik today which if I use my math skills …. results in a negative as it is an analog with quartz soul and negative display

If we're talking ana-digi watches, there is no more famous example that the H558 Arnie. Here's a feature I didn't know about: this one has had a flat battery for a while now (after months of lying neglected with a flashing low power indicator). The screen was blank, but when I popped a fresh battery in today the date was correct, the time was out by a little over an hour (daylight savings plus a bit of drift) and the chrono was running. Who know it had the ability to retain the digital information after the screen died?

I am still in my home by the sea - far away from all my watches except for the one I am wearing. To not bore you with the same watch over and over again I decided to only post when it qualifies. ...and I've been expecting 'Freestyle Friday' for today being the first day with a match. Bummer. But I'll be back end of next week.

What can i say, but Seiko's first twin quartz Grand Seiko 9256-5010, July 1978. It's running 11seconds fast after being set in 2019 wristsushi.proboards.com/post/221019. I call it the subway watch as the dial reminds me of the subway tiles that are so popular.

I don’t actually own a digital watch, and I’ve only got a couple of ana-digi watches - my ArSol and one other which needs batteries. I’ve had a couple of G-Shocks in the past but moved them on - I just find them too big. I will, however, admit to occasionally strapping this one on. Ok, so it’s a ‘ladies’ Baby-G and technically it belongs to Mrs Leffe, but there’s nothing wrong with a little bit of cross-dressing every now and again 🤣

Casio is the King of digital watches. Their square digitals are epitome of the 80's, loved by both young and old. Casio made it possible for the avarage Joe to breath in the spirit of 80's, partake in the digital revolution and dream about the brave new world with its robots and hover boards.

Ok here we go. I have more than I realised! First of all, I put on one that gets a lot of wrist time..This almost qualified for the bricks and mortar call yesterday but I used their online portal. And then… there a few more to choose from. Wow is that an assortment. This looks like something out of an 70's-80's Si-Fi TV show...

Day 7 Digital I was hoping to wear my Wabied Waltham Digital/Analog, similar to a baby Arni, but being a slacker didn’t manage to get a fresh battery ordered and installed in time. I’d already posted a Digital for the Chronograph Day so I was left with the Casio F-208 in white. Weird how I can come up with a story for these watches. I didn’t say interesting, I just said a story. First a small bit of history on the F-208. Casio introduced the f-208 back in 2014 as the younger cousin to the more popularish F-91. The F-91 has been one of their better sellers and has been offered since 1989. The F-91 though has received (per-wiki) the moniker "The al-Qaeda Watch" for it’s use in bomb making. This particular watch was given to me by a coworker with a shared interest in watches. He get’s my old copies of Watch Time, and we imagine if money was no object, which watches we’d like to own. He kind of follows celebrities, and what they are wearing. The boxer that has a bunch of watches and is a Hublot fan. We have discussed the reasons someone would own a Rolex Vs A Seiko “Grand Seiko” (or now just a Grand Seiko). The coworker was at Kolhs ?? maybe Target at lunch one day, and saw this in the Bargain Bin at 50% off. IIRC it was only $17.99 to begin with. Anyway, when he came back from lunch, he gave it to me, and said "I doubt you’ll wear a white watch" and I told him he didn’t know me well. I took the watch home and placed it on the kitchen table, while making dinner. My daughter came in and saw it on the table, and said excitedly, “You bought me a watch?”. To which I replied, a guy at work had given it to me…She asked if she could wear it for a while, and I said yes… I think she wore it for a couple of years, before I replaced it with a white Baby G Shock… When I got it back I had it on my dresser, and I guess I must have inadvertently activated the alarm. Since I wasn’t around at the time, M1stW said she would hear some beeping, and by the time it woke her up, and she looked around for where the sound was coming from, it was gone. Then she’d forget about it and then she’d hear it again. Not always, as it wasn’t loud enough to always wake her up. I guess this went on for a few weeks, a day here a day there. She gets annoyed or the smallest things!!! Of course she also thought maybe I had done it on purpose... This was a WRUW pic before I got it back with my Daughter Sporting it. Another WRUW after I got it back and she’s got her Baby G. We're a bit out of sync. And todays entry’s

I had enough strength of will to skip gubment school @cd_god so know that two negatives don't make a right. Today, I'm happy to be wrong - been saving this one for you:

Today’s Seiko golf tip of the day: success from a greenside bunker means consistently sliding the clubface under the ball.
Must be Friday.
#1 is on vacation, #3 is off on Fridays, the guy to the left decided to take the day off even though he ran out of vacation days 40 days off ago.
I know all of the watches I own.
I have a Timex Analog / Digital watch on a Velcro strap and a 1970’s Timex digital watch with no buttons just a bar across the bottom of the case.
That one is my rocket scientist watch.
20 years ago a customer was wearing one and had a pocket protector with some pens in it and an IBM ID badge hanging off his pocket and he had the same watch.
I couldn’t find either one so last night I was scrambling to find a digital watch.
I found the Bulova and opened it up and tried to change the battery but one hold down screw just kept spinning so I unscrewed the other side and I didn’t have the correct battery for it. I went to put the screw back in only to find that the head had sheared off
I open up the LED Bulova and there are no batteries in it some it must be broke which is why I left them out the last 2 times I tried to get it to work
My last resort was the cat watch but it has some stupid triangle screws
I thought I had uploaded the pics last night but I can only find this one.
Now I had to dig really deep into the watch drawer to rind these 2 and believe it or not they were both still running after who know how many years.
Not sure if I want to go with the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers game watch or the OG Pre-Indiglo Ironman watch? I know I have a digital Armitron fighter jet game watch and a Mario Brothers game watch somewhere.

Finally I can participate as this was next in the rotation! 😆 Vintage Casio DEP-610 Air Divers 200m Twin Sensor. Built like a tank with stainless case and solid screw down case back. I do have 300 G-Shocks. Too much of a hassle to photo. I did post a number of them in another thread here.

small - another great story, and touching too. I love bringing my Daughter in on the watch hobby, and she digs that dear ol dad services retro tech for her to show off to her friends and classmates. She was the ONLY kid in the large hall that took college acceptance testing last year that could leave her watch on. Everyone else either had no watch to remove, or had high tech wrist appliances that were prohibited in the test environment. She drives a manual transmission too, none of her pals even knew cars could have three pedals!
leffemonster - Hilarious! Funny enough this morning my Wife and I were talking about the 'First Watch' and she asked why I hadn't already found, serviced, and worn that Lady's Casio in my distant youthful past. I told her it would look far too small on my wrist and that I'd probably have some sort of complex over it all. Good on you for wearing that Baby-G, maybe there is hope I can get over my hang up...

Finally, a theme that's right up my alley. Just about every day is wear a digital watch day for me 😎 Just got this beauty yesterday.... G-Shock showing off their skills with vapor disposition technology. Usually done on metals, they did it on the actual glass. The dial face is actually white if taken out of the case. It's pretty cool stuff if you ask me. Nearly impossible to photograph this beauty. It has a pro-reflective coating as opposed to an anti-reflective coating. Love it though, but not exactly the most practical of G-Shocks.
