It is October 24th (somewhere)
There's that date that ends in a TH that they were talking about.
Day 24 of the October WRUW daily theme.
Today's theme is “Wear a quartz watch”
Quartz watches have no soul.
They are like a pet rock: they just take up space until they die and you put them in a drawer.
Is it worth it to go out and buy a new battery to see if it is really dead or just the battery is dead?
If you are lucky enough to be able to revive your pet rock you wear it once and then it dies again in the watch box or drawer and loses another one of it's lives.
When it is finally truly dead it reincarnates itself as the next "Have TO Have" quartz watch after you swore them off after the last one died and the viscous cycle repeats itself over and over.

Damn Autotune.
Anyone else notice the level of quality of "Online Journalism" where your local television and print outlets website has 10 sentence "articles" and all have at least one grammatical or spelling error?
Spell check can't fix stupid.
Or better yet they fail to answer 3 out of 5 W's?
Fake news.
And the Sheeple believe everything they read on the internet and all of the click bait and so on and so on and . . . . .

One of the watches I'll never sell. Lithium cell, beautiful dial and is always spot on after months of hiding at the back of the drawer.

I first posted a pic of this watch on 14th Feb 2017, and in that time (5 1/2 years ago), I have not had to change the battery. I have used the power-saving feature, and it has kept good time over these years. Citizen 1012.

But @cd_god, mine has no battery! Does that mean it does have a soul? This Casio OVW-100B-3AJF Overland without a doubt is my most impossibly complicated watch to set the time upon. It's intended to automatically do it on it's own, but the trouble is that the radio signal it is listening for is 7,500 miles (12,000km) away. I guess I need a taller antenna?
Thanks to allkindsofwatches1 for introducing me to this watch, and thanks to my Wife for buying it for me for Christmas last year!

If you delve into the guts of a 7Ax8 you soon realise that it has soul a’plenty.

Quartz can be more like a pet rock in most cases but then we have today's totally wonderful quartz submissions, these are the exceptions that prove the rule. This is one I wear less than 1 day a year so let's make today the day. You can read this one across the clearance aisle at Walmart. The reset button no longer works so I have to wait until the stroke of midnight when Saturday turns into Sunday to bring it back from the dreaded dead battery conundrum. 0138-5009
