My latest import parcel from Japan arrived last night. The three items within were a Citizen caliber 86 movement holder, a Citizen / Spalding collaboration that I hope to run a service thread here some day soon, and this May of 1976 Citizen Crystron 'Blinker' 4-860802 Y which I'm going to count as my first 'square' analog watch.
It was listed as junk and came on the wrong bracelet. I thought it was filthy but actually the case is textured, making the hooded lug bracelet a far more difficult item to source as it will be unique to this model. Any help from anyone's bracelet heap would be greatly appreciated! The fun part is that the cell hatch opened right up and after tipping the old but still contained cell out and loading in a fresh SR43 the watch fired right up! It's run through the night and accomplished a date change without a hitch. I am currently working on it's broken older brother of February 1974 and purchased this one to study and figure out what is missing from it.
Second most difficult watch shot, the LED blink is only about 0.005 seconds long according to my oscilloscope! I'm sure a crystal will be just as difficult to source as the bracelet... Love the textured dial though! Here's the 1976 Catalog Vol 6 page 31 shot of the watch so we can see the 18mm textured finish bracelet it ought to have. I believe the bracelet part number to be the 4-860802 which appears in catalog entries of watches in the same family (note: different dial got a different bracelet)
Or this one the 4-861035
