Hi all , here is my attempt to showcase my vintage GALCO skin - diver. From information I found on the net it seems that Galco is a sub-brand of the Gallet watch company. Gallet were more known for chronographs and stop watches, but something the company apparently didn't produce much of was this plain skin-diver style watch. Movement: A. Schild 17 jewels movement, 21,600bph , hand wound (from information I found on the net). Case: Chrome plated case , with stainless steel back. Crystal: Acrylic. Case Size: 37mm (40mm incl. crown). Lug to Lug: 46mm. Lug Width: 19mm. Thickness: 11mm. Crown: Non-screw down , not marked. Bezel: Bi-directional , Non Click. Dial : Semi-gloss Black , with applied main markers - Main Markers: Lumed (still lasts 2 to 3 seconds when fired up). Hour & Minute hands: Both are Lumed. Second Hand: Non Lumed , but with a nice red coloured arrow head tip. Great old watch from the 70s I would guess -when did tritium become the norm?
Seems to keep ok time, though I haven't time-graphed it.I wear this watch on what I hope is a period correct vintage, white tropic band - (now turned a bit cream with age). * Sorry the images aren't great - not the best photographer around. The image of the movement is from the net. *

Very nice, Have never heard of Galco, or Gallet. Some nice models indeed, and I am definitely a fan of the vintage skin divers.

Very cool watch mirrorman! I love old and different stuff like this. Interesting name too, in the USA it's a famous brand of leather good
Thanks for sharing!

I bi-directional, non-clicking dive bezel must be pretty rare indeed. Cool watch from a brand I was not familiar with. Apparently they have clock making credentials back to 1466: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gallet_%26_CompanyVery cool vintage piece. That bezel seems to have survived the years in near perfect condition - rare indeed!
