If you were to choose one vintage Seiko model to be made one hundred percent as it was, like an exact replica, which one would it be?

Pogue for me.
But I would also love an SRP Turtle Bumblebee.

An excellent question - and one that stumps me. TBH, given the watches I like, none of the above excite me enough to wish for a remake. The bigger question for me - is there any that I want enough to recreate? Or to put it another way, given I like a number of vintage watches, would I pay a modern price for a vintage recreation when I can buy the same vintage watch, serviced and refreshed to like new, for a fraction of the cost of a recreation?
An example - I recently got a small bonus and thought I'd splurge and buy a new watch. Since I like King Seiko quite a bit, I thought I'd buy one of the new KS, for about $1,400 IIRC. But then I started looking at some of the classic models and found a number of nicely restored offerings, for well less than a new KS. The vintage model has a better movement than the new KS, it has a certain panache that the modern one doesn't, and it cost less. It was a no-brainer for me.
I think I'd prefer a modern recreation, that nods towards certain vintage designs, rather than a straight-up remake. Think SARB001, 003 or 005 rather than a 70s KS.

I'm curios as to the differences. I don't recall reading anything bad about the the 6r that come in the King's? I think newer models have a longer PR as well.

Seiko needs to start with a modernized 6139 movement. They can stuff that in all kinds of special editions, re-editions etc and make a killing.

Movements should be indeed modernized, but the designs in my opinion deserve to be honest remakes. Just look at what the swiss brands do, they have the same design for 70 years.

One thing that shocks me is that Seiko doesnt make an effort to celebrate history. This doesnt mean to get stuck in the past, but giants like Zenith and Heuer to this day still rave on about the first auto chrono in 1969, Seiko hasnt made a single mention and in fact they were the first with the 6139.
I never understood this, hence my call for an honest remake of the 6139-6000 but this time with proper advertising, claiming in bold letters that the 6139 was the first auto chrono.

Poor wording on my part. No shade on the 6R movements and no reason to think they're lesser or won't be running just as well as a 56 or 52 movement 40 or 50 years from now. They're around 70 hrs IIRC, compared to around 45 - 50 hrs for the 5600. No shade on the new KS either - I expect I will buy one at some point as I like them, but it was hard for me to make that choice compared to what's available, overhauled, on the vintage market. So I'm speaking more from the standpoint of value for dollar.

They have not yet slapped a yellow dial on this one for a reason - if I had to guess... As much as I find it aggravating that there is not a clear modern reissue of the 6139, part of me thinks that was still a time when Seiko was playing the "swiss game" - before they turned the whole market upside down with Quartz movements... If/when they put a yellow dial on this new solar version, I would give it a more serious second thought...

I’d love to see a reissue 6117-6410. The new 4r34 movement is here now and it’d be cool to see a new navigator timer

The only time they did a good call was in 1997 with the sushi roll remake.

Seiko should look to the swiss in remakes, theres no shame in it. The submariners design was perfect 60 years ago, they keep to it and have other editions on the side, but they remake the original too.
My point is who ever likes these mods and solar remakes, have the option to buy one, we need faithful remakes for us too.

Not on the list of options, I voted for the 6139-6000, but would enjoy a New reissue of the King Seiko, Hi-beat, Chronometer. Vance.
