Looking forward to celebrating (in spirit) with you guys! If you happen to see any stone gargoyles atop the aforementioned buildings, do get a snap of one if you can. My family lore is that my Great Grandfather and his father produced some of those. Their main line of business ( Larcombe Memorials) is tombstones for the Rookwood Cemetery from 1870 to present!

inboost I did look but we didn’t get to spend as much time as I hoped. Ok. So birthday! We left at 9 and got to the exhibition at 11am It was in Sydney town hall. Taking photos inside an art exhibition isn’t easy. The lighting is hideous unless you’re awkwardly close to the pieces. The last one with the boy and the nurse was a charity auction. It was expected to raise 3-4 mil and got 16. To go to the NHS (National Health Service) in the UK. unsure if pounds or not. The. We headed to the queen Victoria Building. It’s got some fancy shops (Longines and ? Mont Blanc.) There’s this cool watch. And stained glass. Lunch at Darling Harbour. Sorry no food shots. I got my wife to help with the bridge shot. Mobile phone and cars is pretty hectic here. It was either the watch or the bridge.

Well done camrok, some great photos and very captivating subject matter. That's incredible that the painting auctioned for 16M of any denomination! Imagine yourself in that seat for just a minute. You have an idea, sketch it out with less intricacy than a £5 note, and then offer it to the public for charity. It then exceeds the £5 note value by 3.2 million times. Who needs to counterfeit when you can come up with this material

perseverance and judicious patience you'll get to where you're going with your marriage and sanity intact. I'll add Coffee to that sentiment for keeping sanity in check... Yeah, I have to admit that no coffee in the kitchen would be a complete non-starter in my household. If "she" made me choose between my percolator and her, it would be a tough choice (25 years together and still tail over wings in love with my wife) but I'd probably take my coffeepot and hit the road. That said... having done the whole "freshly-ground, freshly brewed" thing for years as a bachelor... I do agree that the whole "roaster/grinder/bags of raw beans" mess has no place inside the house. If I ever fell down that rabbit-hole again, everything except the coffeepot would be relegated to the garage, if not the toolshed. mnem life's too short to deal with coffee tailings all over the house...

Banksy! We've got a couple big fans in my household. What a great event to bring the World Traveller to!

Very cool camrok. Nice looking family you've got there. Not an art connoisseur but I do know about Banksy. Did anyone ever find out who he or she is?

Now, a Treasury must have somewhere to store all the gold right? Here's a small selection of the safes and vaults scattered around the building.

The family shot reminds me almost of those shots in the back of Watch Time where the people gather for a Selfie and show off their watches? No other watches in sight though...I'd actually planned one while I had it just couldn't get the fam to play along...

Wow, nice house-to-be and nice haul in the meat raffle camrok ! I'm sure it's pretty vague, but how long until you actually get to move in? Is it weeks, months, or?
Oh, I didn't see the watchmaking den. You'll need to go back and photo that for us

Oh, I didn't see the watchmaking den. You'll need to go back and photo that for us We are being told it will be finished and if April for a handover date of mid May. I didn’t take any photos of the garage that has been extended or the spare room. Both of which are likely candidates for watch bench space.

So I’ve been enjoying the sun and the space. Enjoyed this to wake up to. Have the coffee machine but no power- so too the camp kitchen. It’s been suggested that Australia’s best real estate is still occupied by caravan parks and national parks. Did something dangerous.

camrok, the WTv2 is totally up for a swim so no worries there! I'd be more worried about the phone going in than the watch
I'm impressed you brought the espresso machine along on the camping trip. I have done a French Press 'kit' when serious about drinking good coffee while away from home, but you've got me beat hands down
