lol. I did think of tritto and his spider adventure but until now I hadn’t thought he may have posted both online and in real life. My wife was driving this car the next day and heard knocks on the roof. I failed to mention that the roof was the last place I’d seen the Tritto-antula heading.

I’ve been wearing the watch daily. And have been trying to get to the local PO for the travelers next adventure with Rod zonda In the mean time. Here are some updates. We got garage door and first coat primer. They will the check for humps bumps and divots. Cams Lamb curry. With the last of our meat raffle wins. MIL also doesn’t like smell of red meat so this was a Van Lamb Curry (made in our van) And to end the week off the fam and I snuck into our house and had Thai on our living room floor with some of the paint and plaster buckets as seats.

That's great memory building there camrok! I remember when my parents built a house and we had to vacate the old one prior to entering the new one due to a hold up in final inspection messing about the schedule. We lived in the garage of the new place for two full weeks before we could move in. As an adult I don't know why we didn't just go live in the house, the sign-off happened without so much as a double look at our home in the garage. I doubt the guy would have cared if we actually lived in the rooms meant for us. As a kid I was just having fun with it being a different and fun experience (I think I was 9 or 10). My Mom wasn't very happy, I do remember that

Welcome to Brisbane, once voted one of the top ten most livable cities in the world and still a calm and relaxing place to be. Australians, by their very nature, are happy, welcoming, and passionate people. The people of Brisbane take that down a notch or two; essentially, we're super relaxed, happy, and don't mind a cold drink on a hot day (or any day, really). Brisbane has a subtropical climate with warm summers that can be a little humid, and cool overnight temperatures. Winters can get cold but rarely drop into single digits. Recently, we have endured 70+ nights above 20C with unseasonable daily rainfall leading to flooding. As I'm typing this, the rain has started again! We love the outdoors, and all sports are played here. If you're not following a local team in your chosen sport, then you're most likely a tourist! If you ever visit Brisbane, you'll soon realize we love brunch and early evening drinks, normally followed by watching our chosen sport live. Luckily, we have several great local teams playing AFL, Rugby League, Cricket and Football as well as our state teams, the Broncos (rugby league), The Roar (football), The Lions (AFL), and The Bulls (cricket) and manny more. These are complemented with the women's leagues in all these sports. If there is a sport you like, we'll most likely have it, yes, even Ice Hockey! Be here for the 2032 Olympics... Brisbane is located on Moreton Bay with two large facing sand islands, North Stradbroke and Moreton Island. These can only be reached by boat (or ferry) and are just two of many smaller islands in the bay that are well-visited most weekends. Morton Island "Tangalooma wrecks" (from the Web) North Stradbroke Island (from the web) Our city is divided north, south by the Brisbane River, or as the locals call it, "The Brown Snake" because it is a tidal river and not blue. As it winds its way through Brisbane, it resembles a... Brown Snake. Australians are quite lazy when it comes to naming. If you ever visit, you'll find out... well, the Brisbane River goes through Brisbane, the reef that forms a barrier down the Queensland coast is called the Great Barrier Reef, and the mountain range that forms a divide between the coast and the interior is called the Great Dividing Range. We also have a huge coffee culture; if you like your coffee, then Australia is the place! More to follow

Drinks with our neighbours, Easter is now over!! As the weather has been quite inclement I took the oppertunatly yesterday to take the World Timer out to The Bay. We live on a hill only a short distance for "The Bay" so can gauge the weather, So out with one of my motorcycles and off for a ride. The bike..1995 Yamaha TRX850. Looking from Woody Point back towards Brisbane Port and City, from "Woody Point Jetty", Woody Point so named as it was densely wooded with Hoop Pines when the first European's arrived. Hoop Pine A distant Brisbane City.. D'Aguilar range National Park as seen from the Jetty. Brisbane Port. We do love our fishing and with The Bay being mostly a marine park, only recreation fishing is permitted with strict bag limits being applied Bait fish, easily caught with a jigger lure. These are fresh water filleting/cleaning boards set up along the jetty and the bins are for bait bags and fish scraps, this discourages sea birds and rats. Normally, the area is clear from pollution, but due to the recent flooding, some flotsam is coming ashore. This will be cleaned up by the local council or locals, and we do have Clean Up Australia Day on the first Sunday of March. On this day, we all get out and clean up the waterways, local bush, or the beaches to get rid of rubbish... then have a beer and a barbie. Woody Point. Boys playing touch FootBall.. This is further around the point at Redcliffe (so named as the cliffs there, when viewed from the see are ...red). As we are in The Bay there is no surf so it's popular with the families with little kids. Redcliffe is a popular weekend getaway with numerous cafes, pubs and a lifesaver guarded beach. Your'll find these in every town, village, hamlet, city in Australia and are commonly referred to as "The Mothers Memorial". They are memorials erected after WW1 to pay respect to our fallen and now represent all conflicts since Australia was federated in 1900. The 25 April at dawn (4:10am) we gather all over Australia at the memorial to remember the falen with a solemn service. Know as ANZAC day (Australia and New Zealand Army corps) it's usually followed by Rum and bacon and egg rolls at the local RSL (Returned Serves League). These Memorials are still maintained by the Australia Defence and local councils.

Nice to see it get out and about. I'd like to get out more, but the weather has just been rain, rain and more rain! In a state that prides its self with the slogan, "beautiful one day perfect the next" it's hard to show off the city! Rod

Lovely pictures! What a beautiful place. I have been to Australia 3 times on business (Melbourne, Sydney, & Darwin with a brief jaunt to WA to a mine site near Kalgoorlie). I'd like to go some time for pleasure to get out and see more of it.
That's a cool motorcycle too. Is it a Suzuki TL1000S? It looks vintage.
I really love that original World Timer too. Sweet watch!
Thanks for treating us and the World Traveler to a proper tour!

Great to see some of Brisbane Rod! It’s on our ‘Aussie places to go to’ if we ever get the chance to get back down under. One day, perhaps, but not for a good while methinks.

The Brown Snake!Well, we had a day of relative sunshine yesterday, so let's see the Brown Snake and Brisbane from the deck of a CityCat. The route! The watch! The Boat! The river! The happy couple! The Brisbane River is a tidal river that empties into The Bay, and at its mouth is slow and quite brown. There are still plenty of fish and massive Bull Sharks up to 3m in length. The Bull Sharks in the Brisbane River are numerous and have been sighted in large numbers even in the freshwater sections 30 kilometers up the river. Although they are plentiful, there have only been a few attacks on humans in the last 150 years. They are interesting as they can live and breed in the brackish water upstream. Drawn to the upper section when we have an inpouring of fresh water, it's generally advised to not swim in water that is cloudy or muddy, as these fish can mistake you for food! Back to the river, it winds its way as you'd expect through Brisbane, past colonial homes, their modern interpretation, the once-thriving wool export wharves, and the old Brisbane coal-fired power station. Along the lower reaches of the river and through the city center are many kilometers of riverside board cycle/run/walks; these are broken by numerous parks, cafes, and other attractions. Kangaroo Point cliffs are a magnet for rock climbers and abseilers; you can see them most days, and it's regarded as a very safe learner's cliff. Then we get to South Bank! It was once a working-class industrial area with all the industries that supported the two main incomes of the colony: wool, ships, and beer. South Bank was redeveloped in the late 1980s for Expo 1988, and some of the original buildings still exist, like the Nepalese temple. Once EXPO 88 was over, it has slowly transformed into the relaxation hub of Brisbane center, though it often floods and is frequently rebuilt! Web photo, 4.5M flood height ( just under 15 feet) South Bank is a large park with restaurants, cafes, pubs, apartments, and a man-made swimming beach. It's just across the river from the city and is a well-loved and well-used escape from inner-city life. South Bank We like to call these Royal Ibis "Bin Chickens" as they have worked out how to scavenge from the public bins! The Beach and a Lifesaver. This area is not enclosed/fenced and open to the public all year. The upper reaches.. Lots of rowing clubs Homes in the bush We love to fish. The last jetty at the University of Queensland... these jetties are now flood-safe, and the boarding ramp can be lifted and folded against the bank, reducing the chances of being destroyed by floodwater. Most jetties were destroyed by the 2011 floods. The Queensland University of Technology. The city on the way down the river. The old Goods Wharf now a thriving restaurant and cafe area. Rod

Rod that's quite a view to take in, what a great tour! I'm so happy the weather finally cooperated and gave you a chance to show us around some more. Were those floods you mentioned due to tidal surges or inland rainfall?
