Hey there, new member hoping to learn more about vintage seikos. I'm from India.
I love seiko dials especially the more colorful they are, saw a LordMatic 5606-8050 loved it immediately started hunting for it, bought one from yahoo jp and started researching them and through that research I came across this forum. Have some 5606's on the way, few in decent condition and few not so, I'm hoping to start restoring watches with one of these. Also hunting a LM 5606-5021!

Welcome aboard! What a nice choice. The 56xx is one of the two Seiko movements (and the watches they came in) I like best. They are lovely - except for that *%@!#@ plastic date rocker (you will find out about that more soon than late if you follow the path). I am not sure though, if a 5606 is an ideal movement to start with tinkering - unless you have a couple of donors. There are a lot of nasty springs in there and it is a bit more complicated (and more expensive) than let's say a 7009 or 6309. But rest assured to find lots of help here when things don't work out. Most important: pictures are always welcome (though it's a bit difficult to get them in here). The other mentioned movement family btw is the 52xx.

I read about the plastic part! Planning on purchasing the metal replacement from vintagetimeau, infact I found the forum through his listing. That is a beautiful LM special, I have my eye on a listing for it but the case is in pretty bad shape, hope I come across a decent one.

I agree with you autimage that the Lord Matic is a beautiful and classy line of watches. Looking forward to seeing some of yours. The date rocker is annoying, but the metal replacements do the trick. I have (had my watchmaker) put them in a few of mine.
