I'll use the grey rodico (less sticky) for the job. If it's a really ugly pivot I'll start with the pithwood and then hit it with rodico. I am due for a new process though. I used to do this kind of work in between ultrasonic cleaning stages. I'd run the parts through the cleaning solution, then peg out / polish pivots, and then run the parts through the rinse cycle. Now that I have a watch cleaning machine I no longer have access to the parts between stages. I've started pegging jewels as they are dirty and I'm not as happy with the outcome as crud tends to smear around if it's not had any solvent on it first.

I have a Pith Helmet
It says Fechheimer Bros. Co. on the inner headband if anyone is into hats or knows more
I had wanted a pith helmet ever since I as a little kid and saw one on a dummy in the Panama Jack store at the mall.
