It's a balmy -35C here in Cowtown so the Alpinist seems appropriate...

For mnementh - I'm doubled down as an easy way to bring in a watch for my friend to try out. We were talking about paying taxes yesterday and when I made an offhand comment about 'Harold Crick' we spiraled off into the Timex Ironman Dualtec T56371 from the movie "Stranger Than Fiction". When I told him I had the watch he was quite impressed and asked me to bring it in today even though he's not a watch guy. In the left wrist is the accidental Lordmatic 5606-9030. It came in a lot of watches I bought and had hardly noticed it in the heap. It's one of my favorites now and the target of the lot sits decimated in pieces in the parts bin. How's that for a turn-around?

Today's Seiko cat tip of the day: "never feed dog food to cats unless it's a one or two day emergency."
There's that snow they were talking about

Wow, tell me what model is that the dials killer. Looks kind of large though 40mm+? Also what is the 5 for on the day? Friday would be the 6th day of the week?

Friday is the 5th day of the week, at least in Japan, or at least for Orient and Citizen. My Citizen Crystal Seven also counts Friday as a "5".

Reminds me of the last time we were in Australia and I was telling our friends about the coldest temperature I’d experienced when I lived in Scotland. Me -”Yeah, it was minus 24C” Craig - ”Minus 24?! Bloody hell mate, that’s colder than me phuking freezer!”

Checked again against Time.is and today it's under a second off. Just bragging I guess. Wow.

I had a real laugh when a buddy of mine said it was so cold that his dick looked like a button on a fur coat!

How's that for a turn-around? *twitch... twitch... twitcha-twitch...* *pointedly looks away, towards the accidental LordMatic* You have no idea how many times that happens in my other hobby, collecting & repairing vintage TE. Also, how many times we buy a "parts unit" that arrives in such better condition than the project unit that roles reverse. And then you discover you love the fixed unit so much, you start looking for another "parts unit"... mnem
