I don’t like the prospex logo. But in this case I can make an exception, especially when I check the time in this kind of instances 😀

For all the vintage LCD watches out there, my Seiko RC-1000 from 1984 reminds you to update the year to keep your calendar on track

Sat in the parking lot for 15 minutes waiting for someone else to show up for work and open the store.
Traffic must have been rough walking across the parking lot since #2's son lives 200 feet away from the front door in the house on the compound and can't make it to work on time
Just like at TOJ when the meth head mechanic lived above the store and couldn't make it to work on time.

So... today, while I'm building a wall-wart to power that Autowinder I posted last, my mind turned to the watch I'll be using it with for now... my Tandorio US GI MIL-W-3818B "inspired" Aviator Watch. As I mentioned when I first posted, the leather civvy band is just too small for my big Shrek paws; so I shopped around and found this SS mesh band with magnetic clasp for a steal on Amazon, and got a couple in 20mm width for it. Of course, as it is me we're talking about, it couldn't just be a nice simple plug & play operation. Due to the deep inset of the springbar holes vs the shoulders on the headers necessary for the mesh band, the metal headers wanted to bottom out on the end of the lug such that they point straight out. This just looks completely wrong on the wrist. As they were pretty cheap and I liked the look at first tryout, I decided to commit a little Dremel abuse as seen on the right; this produced the natural-looking "hang" seen in my first shot. I quite like the look and feel of the band on this watch, and the mesh is very smooth & comfortable against the skin. The only problem with the thing is the same problem I always have: getting the damned thing over my huge paws. While the magnetic clasp is novel and does seem to hold very securely, I have to completely undo the clasp and redo it; I can't just let it slide all the way open and pull the watch over my hand. It is surprising how much of a PITA this is when you have 2 magnets either fighting each other or fighting you. There's a reason I almost always eventually default to NATO strap or a bracelet with deployment clasp and several extra links... I just do not have the patience; I do a lot of messy or wet work, and I'm always taking a watch off and back on again. At this point, I decided to try it in the Autowinder, while I went to see if Tandorio had a bracelet meant for this family of watches... ...damn them anyhow! The first thing that came up when I searched out their site was this! www.tandoriowatches.com/tandorio-t113-mop-dial-watch-diving/mnem and of course, they have a model with SS bracelet... *wibble*

Both arrived earlier today for me and my workmate... See what's fun about them in the "What have you coming in the mail" thread :
