My wife's great uncle is getting rid of some his belongings with the help of his nieces. I was asked to appraise some watches today and I was surpised to see this Seiko 7123 among few other watches, as I was expecting to see cheap modern fashion watches, which I had repaired to this said uncle before (battery swap, new strap, fixing dial due to broken dial feet etc.). I appraised the other watches (old swiss fashion brands, estimated total value of maybe 30€) and promised to set them up on an auction site. I then asked if I could buy this 7123 straight away for 30€. My offer was based on a fact, that I sold much nicer 7123 two years ago for 50€ and in far better condition (I actually kind of regret it), it needs a complete overhaul (managed to clean the case for pictures) and I also explained, that 7123 is quite infamous Seiko caliber. It's also going to stay with me, as it's nice to have a watch that reminds me about my wife's funny and grumpy great uncle.

Folks are wearing some nice watches this Saturday.
In remembrance of King Vanac, the 5256-6000
Need to find a new crystal for it (as is usual with 50yo cut crystal watches) which are challenging to find.
I love the bracelet on this one - really comfortable and looks fantastic

V743-9020. Movement was toast so it actually houses a V X43.

V743-9020. Movement was toast so it actually houses a V X43. Very interesting, because of the plain dial. I think I'll have to get myself one. Thanks!

You know, when you put on a watch that was done and dusted but wait a sec - why is it out 5 minutes already It was a tear-down to firm up the canon pinon and then a very painful rebuild full of hijinx like loose/bent sweeper tubes, a molded complex profile gasket that no longer wants to go where it belongs, and cross-threaded case back ring.
Sprinkle in a little Chinesium tooling woes
Really!? I guess you get what you pay for...
The 3MT to ER32 collet adapter taper plus the cheap collet has the run-out. The back of the collet is +/-0.001 at the 3MT.

Had a strap fail on the Stargate (not catastrophic - thank God) so switched to the Dagaz TII.
