The SRPK65 is the blue one and the SRPK67 is the black one with the blue and white checkering on the dial. These are pretty much as close as one could get to the originals while still using the 5KX case, other than the indices on the dial and the fact that they didn't use the retro "Water10BarResist" writing that they've put on some of the other retro watches.
Still, overall I think Seiko did a pretty good job.

I prefer the 67 which looks quite a faithful reproduction of the 8300 I have. I might even be tempted to buy one...π€

I like the 67 as well! I think it's meant to be like a 6106-8229 but the dial is also super similar to that 6119! That faceted crystal is wild!

wow, this really makes me want to buy the dial and hands, and a bezel insert to boot... the old "skx" case architecture does nothing for me, but this would look so fine in a modern 6105-8000 re-issue type case....funny, here, that the case is "old" and the dial and hands are "new"

The SRPJ41 I just traded for has this bezel insert and I think it looks really cool. It definitely looks better in person than it does in pictures. Somehow it fits the case style super well, even though I was skeptical about it when I was trading for it. I had intended to keep it and maybe give it as a gift but that only lasted about half a day before I threw it on a strap and started wearing it.

I really wish they would stop using this case. It's been beaten to death. And that stupid stylised '5'. Did you guys see the India Special edition? Shittiest combo ever. It's like they didn't even try. SRPK81 and SRPK83, 1200 pieces each

I was mad about the 5KX case when it first happened, and I don't really like the new 5 Sports logo (or the PSX Prospex logo, or the new Grand Seiko branding), but there are things in life that are worth being mad about, and corporate logos aren't on that list for me π
I do wish all these watches had 200m water resistance, but clearly the line is successful, and there are tons of other watch companies offering "Diver's" watches with only 100m water resistance, and they were doing it before Seiko started. So Seiko was just reacting to the market conditions more than anything I think. Having an elapsed time bezel is super useful in everyday life even if the watch isn't water resistant. And it took me like 5+ years to warm up to these enough to be willing to own one, but they genuinely do feel just as well-made as any of the SKXs I've owned, and if anything they feel better because the crown operation doesn't feel mushy like the 7S watches' crowns always felt.

appumaster I hear you, rather odd for a country-specific model.
But if they will sell that will prove all of us 'wrong'

I love the SKX case. The classic, iconic, comfortable, perfectly sized 6309 "Slim Case" that lives on all these 7002, 7C43, 7548, SKX, SARB, etc later.
