We'll have to see how long this one stays clean at work.
Did I ever mention I hate getting dirty.

Bulova Accutron Spaceview 316-1 I still have yet to service a tuning fork movement (I'm a bit chicken) so it's not been tuned to do any better in timekeeping...

This one deserves a bit wrist time... So my wife can see I wear the watch she offered me . Hmmm a Quartz type II in the background... Guess who sent me that pic this morning as soon as I was online... It will be posted soon in the "what's coming in the mail" thread. inboost, 2 accutron in 2 days, that's too much for me. I had a look today on what's available online. It seems like each time I look at them the prices go up

inboost , 2 accutron in 2 days, that's too much for me. I had a look today on what's available online. It seems like each time I look at them the prices go up TinkeringFR , yes I'm sad to say this is very true of these. Now you should be careful as there are many post factory 'conversions' (a nice way to say fakes) out there you must pay appropriately for. You see, at first Bulova only did the Spaceview for display in a store, but then all of a sudden everyone wanted one. So the watchmakers started to take out the dial and put the watch back together. This is most of them out there. There are many legitimate versions too, so it's not impossible to find a good one.
Also, if someone says, "It hums but doesn't move the hands" then you are best to walk away unless you can find some very rare and fragile parts. You can learn a lot here: [https://spaceview.ca/]
trilo - wow, more stunning photos! I wonder of you can feel your hands yet?

Thanks for the link inboost, the spaceview is certainly one of my favorite, but if I don't find one, i'll certainly find another tuning fork watch. A friend of mine collecting mainly Omega watches told me one day he found a guy to service his f300Hz, but that was long time ago.

inboost I'm not surprised you don't fancy fiddling with a tuning fork, I feel exactly the same! That spaceview.ca page is excellent. I emailed back and forth with the owner when I was buying one and he's very helpful. This page is also full of info www.accutronwatchpage.com/index.htmI managed to sneak a few photos earlier today but only now getting round to posting. A 7548-7000 from November 1980 today
