As yesterday, today started with placing yesterdays watch back in the box next to his mates. The next Slava 2427, which also requires complete fast-forwarding to set the day of the week lined up with today. Looking at the last Slava in the lineup I see it's dead stopped on Friday so I guess that makes it a Soviet Sweep for me this week.
The Chaika 3050 showed up last night. It was a cheap 'Not Working' gamble, hoping that the stepper was good. It appears not.

Wow this dial is reflective!
Will be swapping to the Carolina Blue dial LM this evening.
The Opuntia are not pleased with the amount of rain we've gotten. I think they'd prefer to be back in Arizona.

Wow this dial is reflective! Yeah, that's for sure! I'd call it concert piano black which in person is pretty much a mirror. It's a labor of love to get that clean after a service I can tell you that!

victorI have not congratulated you yet about that Crystron. Congrats! I just finished shortening the stem on mine. IMO one of most nerve wracking jobs there is, too short and there is little one can do (solder crums into the crown are supposed to help). Now I have to glue the crown tube (came loose) and tighten the crown.

Thanks, I'm really psyched about it - but I'm not sure if congrats are in order as my only role in getting this was saying how much I admired it, and "Shazam" it appeared on my doorstep!
Massive thank you to inboost for the gift, as well as the amount of effort he put into making it run perfectly!
Good luck on getting yours sorted - yours was the inspiration as I didn't even know this model existed until I saw it.

Check out this sweet Casio that came along for the ride with another watch I really bought in a small lot. Still had the plastic on it and looks never worn. A bonus watch. It’s like, um, free! Let me check the price. Oh, it really is damn near free as it’s $25 on Amazon. But I think it’s a helluva nice watch for that money.

This, I really need to dust off my other watches, been wearing G shocks for the last couple of weeks! Painted the lettering on the bezel, improved it I think… Before After

It has everything one needs and you can't beat the price, especially when you consider it's technically service free and only requires an inexpensive cell every 8 years. I got couple friends who bought it about 6 years ago because I recommended it. I had forgotten the whole thing, but I was recently reminded about it and I was pleased to see them in good nick and running! One of them works in construction and it has been his daily watch for the 6 years.
