As I've been known to say "There's not enough Citizen's around here."
So, I decided to put my money were my mouth is. On to eBay and pop "Citizen" & "Diver" into the search engine off we go.
Scrolling down I come across a very sad looking 8200 diver. I keep going. Next day same thing.
Third day & feel sorry for it & read the description. It's dead. I mean got a certificate & awaiting burial dead.
Bit something makes me send the seller a message for information. Message comes back "Was my only dive watch for years. Got divorced, moved & it got lost for a few years. Then my ex-wife returned a box of my stuff & it was in the box. As you can see she didn't take care of it"
Now I'm really feeling sorry! But I make an offer. He says yes, pay pal is hit and it's on its way to me.
Sellers Picture. Bezel insert, toast. Dial, toast. Hands, toast. Crystal, toast. Movement has totally croaked!!
So, before it arrives I set about looking for a new movement. I get a reply from Jon from the blog TenToTwo saying he not only has a movement but he will do the restoration for me! He quote a price that is way more then reasonable & I post it off to him in The Netherlands. BTW, he told me from the off he would have to use AM parts but I thought if it was a choice between chucking this watch in the draw :-Sor bringing it back to a working & usual time-peace I would be fine with that.
Few days latter I get an email with a few pictures showing the work in progress. Stripped down & ready for cleaning, buffing & fitting of parts and a full gasket set.

He then kindly sent me picture of the watch with a Pepsi insert & than a black insert so I could pick one. Went for the black in the end (that's how I roll)
And finally a "before & after shot" And a shot showing the Arabic day wheel, I think I have 4-5 watches with this cool feature now
All, in all I am really chuffed with it. Jon's taken a dead, broke, sad old watch & brought it back to life! smileys-drinking-beer
