Why does every watch I see with a bronze case seem to be priced so much higher than similar watches with non-bronze cases?
Is bronze really all that expensive?

Bronze is much more expensive than 316 stainless. You only have to look at global prices for steel vs copper to see the huge disparity in prices. Bronze = approx 90% Copper (Cu) + 10% Tin (Sn), both of which are in massive demand.

Actually, the bronze offerings from Armida seem reasonably priced to me.

Not sure what model the seller is offering but based on what I've read over on WUS and per the appended link, I'd say they're still reasonable. www.armidawatches.com/a8-brass.php

Only the A1 appears to be a bronze case.
