Gentlemen, until a few days ago, I only had one six slot watch box that I used for my weekly rotation, all the other watches were stored otherwise. However, I did run out of storage capacity so I decided I needed to do something about it. I thus figured it would be nice to have dedicated boxes per model series - so I ordered a 24 slot and a 12 slot box as a trial run. They arrived today after a stunning three day waiting period (fast IMO) so I started to organize my pieces. The 24 slot will be the dedicated Bell-Matic box, as you can see however, for the moment the Belles (calibres 4005 and 4006) share room with the Four Handers (calibres 5619, 6117 and 6217): Love the huge 24 slot box, quite a lot of watches you can store on significantly less than two sq ft The second, 12 slot box will be dedicated to Lord Matics so I already started to fill it with the current finished stock of material (LMs and LM Specials, calibres 5605, 5606, 5206 and 5216). Four watches are missing however, three are in the mail and one is awaiting crystal replacement - for which I need to receive a specific die first... Anyway, I really like the idea of having one box per series and the boxes I bought are very nice for the price IMO, so I figure I will have to order some more :-) So - how do you organize your boxes? Best, Hermann

I have no pics to show , but I switch my boxes up. Swiss then Japanese or whatever the next watch is. I have equal amounts of Swiss to my Japanese so I do it this way so when I go through my rotation each day is different.
I also try to switch it up so I'm not wearing two divers in a row. So it will be diver, chronograph, dress, and so on.

nice stuff, you've got some great examples there. How much were the boxes if you don't mind my asking?
I've got double-level boxes with a display top - box total is 24 watches per. I've never liked that the bottom drawer isn't viewable.

Thanks for the kind words, Spencer!
The 24 slot was about 37 Euros, the 12 slot approx. 18 w/o shipment, IMO quite cheap given that they are pretty nice and of decent quality.
You could probably spend 10x the money I did on the same box sizes, but consider me to be greedy, I would rather spend the money on the content of the boxes than on the boxes themselves ;-)
Best, Hermann
Btw.: cute Avatar pic :-)

Nice boxes Hermann and they do seem very reasonably priced thunbsup.gif I have (most of) my chronographs in a display top box, and (most of) my hand winders in the drawer underneath. I have my autos and electric watches in drawers, organised chronologically. I also have a few in original boxes and on a Cosmotron shop display. But this apparent organisation is undermined by having a few too many for their respective sections, and a need to see more of some of them! So I have some in a modded cd storage unit, only those with straps since bracelets don't easily fit on the cones: Stephen

Stephen, as I already wrote elsewhere, that reconfigured CD rack is just fantastic! It really allows enough 'room' or 'air' for each piece in order to properly present itself - which is on the other hand quite the opposite of the bulk storage solution I had in mind Best, Hermann

I've got a shoe box top that I lay them in rather haphazardly but gently, and then a 4-watch winder for my Automatics. Oddly, few Seiko autos stay wound on the winder, so it's a Swiss thing for now.

I've got a huge boxfor my Seiko's, and a couple of smaller ones for my 'other watches'.
The Seiko's are practically all divers, so they are sorted by date, sort of feels nice to me to look at the history. So far so good.
The 'other watches', which is a combination of Omega, Doxa, Luminox, CWC, Ball, Citizen, Casio, etc. with no theme to it apart from that I really liked them all and hence bought them, is a bit more difficult. I sort them on the 'feel' they give me, which makes perfect sense to me but possibly me alone. I found that out after I had a huge discussion with my wife on how to sort our music collection - my perfect system of style by style did not make any sense to her... Still, it allows me to dive into a certain box based on what type of watch I feel like wearing, and choose between the ones with similar 'feel'!

You have excellent watch storages, fantastic timepieces in your collections, and amazing ideas such as storing the timepieces chronologically and by the style! Really very impressive and creative!
I have two 6 watch boxes, and a 12 watch box. I saw some very nice inserts (To be used inside a Pelican [?] case) which hold 24 and another model holds 32 watches, if I am not mistaken, at another forum. I have been thinking of ordering the 24 watch insert with Pelican case, a complete set. I think it doesn't have the display top, but leaving the top part open should fix that problem.
Thank you all for sharing these magnificent fotos and ideas!

Wow, Hermann - your bench is deeeep. Very cool setup Stephen. Here's my setup: In the middle, 4 and a 2-slot Brookstone winders for my watches on deck. On the right, A nice wood 6 watch box for my handwinders and favorites not on the winder. On the left, a mostly-empty 18-slot Pelican for everything else.

I guess mine aren't really that organized. I had to put the three solar watches in the top part so I mixed them with the auto divers. Quartz on the bottom with the 6139s. It's not the biggest or best collection but I'm VERY happy with what I've got.

Very nice funkster, there are quite some pieces in your collection that I think would fit very nicely into my boxes as well. Maybe we should give it a try? Great collection and arrangement, I especially like the 'dress' compartment ;-) Best, Hermann

I don't have the luxury... Some nice bits there Seikomatic. Favorite is probably the patina'd 6105-8000 and the Superfecta of Samurais. Nice!

As for organizing, I only have one box right now and I just put them in at random
