I've sent a few emails to the owner(?) of WatchRecon, trying to get us listed. More items listed here, would probably help out quite a bit. So my question is this.....When you list your items for sale elsewhere, what is your reason for not listing them here? Just curious, trying to figure out how to boost our B/S/T board.

Honestly, I list my stuff on other forums primarily due to large membership exposure and also because the listings are picked up by Watch Recon. 400 members vs 40,000 members equates to a better chance for sales success......is just a numbers thing, but in the end my goal is to make the sale as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Also, many of my buyers have little to no post count which prevents them from contacting me here. In general, most of the larger watch forums permit new members with zero posts the ability to contact other members via site messaging systems. There have been a few instances where I posted an item for sale on Wrist Sushi and was contacted through another forum about that sales listing.

Getting on WatchRecon would certainly help us out here, hopefully it'll happen one of these days. I remember we installed the minimum post count in the beginning, to prevent spamming. Not sure we are big enough to worry about that, would you recommend the minimum be removed?

Yes, definitely remove the post count requirement...... It would certainly help out.
I'd absolutely love to be a Wrist Sushi only sales poster.....hopefully when we get connected to Watch Recon that will become a reality. I'm all about keeping things under one roof. As it stands, I'm running my case restoration/refinishing store front through W/S it would be great to add the sales threads as well.
It's better for us as a watch community and I'm positive that it can give us great membership growth potential in the future.
Please keep me informed on any developments with Watch Recon

As far as getting listed with WR, it wouldn't hurt if others sent email requests to them.

There just doesnt seem to be enough activity here on our B/ST board! When I sell it's usually on Epray. I generally get a higher price and no-one wants to low ball you there!

Allowing listings, similar to another forum, of items as "Offers Invited" where the seller does not have to list a price and which allows the prospective buyer to submit whatever offer he/she desires might boost listings somewhat, JMHO.

I really don't see too many of the Offers Invited posts, on other forums. It just opens the door to people getting pissy, about receiving lowball offers IMO. While I understand where you're coming from, I'm not sure we want that here...do we?

If you post with a wanted price; you will still get the occasional person wanting to bargain but opening it up is just asking for head aches.

Please don't allow "offers invited" or "expressions of interest". It's reverse tyre kicking and in my opinion a little unclear/deceptive. A car forum I'm on does this, and its EOI on everything down to a $1 nut, silly. As the seller may decide "oh I didn't get the price I wanted, so forget it". And that ties up space on the trading section. You either want to sell the thing or don't... watch sales are strange. even though we've had the web crawlers for years, buyers seem to be loyal to their favorite forum.
I haven't sold in a long time, but I tended to list primarily on Time zone as the buyers there were reasonable adults. Most times I would get list price and they would pay immediately.
I got nothing for TOF. I won't tolerate the bully behavior over there.
WUS makes me want to commit suicide with their ridiculous low balling and trade offers. No I don't want your $100 gift card for Home Depot nor do I want your collection of 10 invictas.
A small place like this I'd be inclined to offer up the friends and family discount in return for a likely trouble free transaction. Can't say that would continue with a much larger presence here.

I think the For Sale section takes a critical mass to become successful. If I log onto WristSushi and glance at the For Sale section on the Home Page and see yesterday's listing, I don't bother heading over to it.
How about we issue a challenge: Everybody post 1 watch For Sale here on WristSushi on some specific day to be named. That will get us all going and maybe keep it going.

I am relatively new on here but came from (TOF) and saw what goes on here and how it is operated. But please remember this is just my own ..... Thoughts Okay ?
Maybe a trial time for this might be required to see if it goes well. But many should really think this thing through and we don't want to end up like where we came from ....... (TOF) so fast.
But it sounds good to enlarge this Forum and it might be beneficial too. We don't want to ........ " Character Flies ", like those on ( TOF) that became leadership as they say they are and then ....... " Turn on their .... " Own Fellow Members ".
Growth is great but it should be watched that it will not go to fast and then problems arise and then there will be ......." KAOS ". Being young yet it should go at a steady pace and not to fast as to not accumulate problems. Note: This is just my own thoughts but you all been here longer so you do the deciding and I will watch as it goes as a ...... " New Member " , should respectively do.

I hadn't even heard of WatchRecon before reading this thread... As for the sales forum here, I agree that it doesn't seem very busy but I think it gets more views than you would think. The last watch I advertised here was also listed simultaneously on TOF and WUS. After 24hrs it had roughly 300 views here, 400 on WUS and 600 on TOF. A couple of days later I bumped it up and 24hrs later I had 800 views here, 800 on WUS and 1000 on TOF. I've just had a look at the ad (its over 2 months old now) and its had over 3800 views here which I think is pretty good but for some reason its been deleted from TOF . I had a couple of inquiries about it from here and WUS but no firm offers so I listed it on ebay with BIN and it was gone within a few days at the full asking price.

It's really difficult to know, how many of the views are bots. We get quite a bit of traffic here, more than many think.
