These look very good. Especially the SNKN01 There could be a non-diver being added to the box

I like the idea of these, but on almost all of them the hands look like they will be difficult to see under many conditions. (Look at the picture just above.) Another downer, no lume at all, which puts a damper on _my_ excitement. They also seem a bit over-sized, for their style. :-/ - Thomas

These have been on my "want" list for a few months now, I'm actually considering the green faced version SNKM97

Interesting, I'd consider these two. Although, before pulling the trigger, I'd like to see a real pic of the green dial.

Pretty cool. But I hate that Seiko always pairs green dials with gold hands/markers nowadays... :puke:

I had a couple of these recraft series. Hands were very hard to see under most conditions, and the watches wore very large and thick for my tastes at 44mm. I wore each once and flipped them. forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=1102434

SNKN01 on the way from Princeton Watches, total knee jerk reaction buy, but under $150 shipped, worth the risk.

But seriously, look at the picture above his post. Where are the hands on the watch to the right? - Thomas

I would have loved if they had used the 4R36 in this instead of the 7S26... What ever happened to Seiko replacing the 7S with the 4R anyway?

I don't think the 7S is dead, that's another myth from one of the other forums we used to frequent. They still sell a zillion models with it. But note the price hike as soon as there's a 4R I would have loved if they had used the 4R36 in this instead of the 7S26... What ever happened to Seiko replacing the 7S with the 4R anyway? Exactly. It's a throwback to a very nice watch and it's a little sad to me that they put their lowest end movement in it.

Yeah I get what you're saying, but in a way, we are hoping they will pump out a new 6139 or something, which at the time was a low cost watch. Previously they have only put some crazy expensive movement in their "vintage inspired" pieces (with the exception of the sport re-issues), or a crap quartz, so to see at least a good workhorse mechanical, in the same spirit as the 70's originals, is a step in the right direction. Well, that's what I reckon ('ken for the Scots). I don't think the 7S is dead, that's another myth from one of the other forums we used to frequent. They still sell a zillion models with it. But the issue, I guess, for me is that Seiko's movements have been losing features and increasing in size over the years. It just makes me wish that they would bring some of the features of the older movements like the snap day/date changes, running sub-$1000 movements at higher than 21600bph, automatic chronographs that don't cost thousands of dollars, and stuff like that.
