Just picked THIS one up, for a nice price. Does it look like I have everything needed, to get it put back together? I know a set of seals will be necessary, but the rest is there? Seller says it's running accurately, and the crown screws down. I believe the crystal is AM, but has a frosted bevel (supposedly). I hope I can get that bezel insert to work, I think it'll be awesome. Although, I may change my mind, after I see it.

Like I tell people at at work:
"Did you buy it from us?"
"No I bought it at Home Depot."
"Take it back where you bought it"
From the pic you are missing a MOVEMENT SPACER SPRING WASHER and a CASEBACK.
Unable to tell if all of the stem parts are there.

The rotating ring is on the case, and the movement is *supposedly* complete inside...along with a caseback attached.

Hi Groundhog.
It looks like everything for the front side of the watch is there.
I think what lead cdgod to mention the movement spacer spring is that the movement spacer itself appears in your picture (immediately above the bezel insert) and not inside the watch - and there is no spring visible.
Wow, I don't think I've ever seen a bezel insert that worn.
Good luck, it should all click together nicely.

Oh, I verified that the click ball is intact as well.

I think the case ring is upside down (the movement side is up) in the photo. So we can't see if the casing spring is there or not...or is that what you meant? Hi Groundhog. I didn't pick that up feca67. If it's not there, daveeb on the other forum sells good replica case springs in stainless steel. I think he's out of stock at the moment, but I'm hoping he makes more up soon.

Thanks for all the input guys, I'm really looking forward to getting this one together. If anyone happens to have an OEM bezel insert lying around, please let me know.

Very nice price Tim - congrats on that score! Dan Thanks Dan! The case looks to be pretty rough, but it should make a decent beater.

Hong Kong Dial Tim , why not if it comes together. Yeah, I don't own any HK dials, not my favorite...but what the heck.

Aloha Sir, These were made in the early 1970 to 1980's . These are (Japan only ) distributions so any where else did not get them right away. These have the same things as any other 6309-7040's the only difference is the Dials. They are quite common and I like them especially for my own interests. I am always looking to get one more ( Hong Kong Dial ) for the one I have here yet, then that is it.) The watch looks great , but wear and tear is always the case with older things. I only use my 7040' s for occasional use, never a daily thing. I have a totally over buffed 6309-7290 that I do use all the time. That is one I post call the ........" Chrome Job ". It was terrible, but I did not junk it, just super buffed it and it came out just fine.
Don't know why but it has always been like that. I need one more case and HK dial then I can complete this one here. I have been looking for a... ( 6306 Dial for so long it has been a Long Safari for it. )
