Currently on E-Bay there is a Sony Sportsmatic 820 being sold by a Birmingham based seller with a feline type name. I was interested in it when it was listed last week at £29 starting bid. The seller said that it was colection only, and specified that anybody unable to collect should not bid. Assuming that maybe he'd had a bad postage experience, I contacted him and asked if he's consider posting RMSD, which is insured and said I would be willing to pay £10 (Postage would have been about £7). He politely refused. Fair enough. The watch sold for a ridiculously low £33.78. I was surprised to see it immediately relisted at £90, again collection only. So, I investigated and lo and behold he had sold to someone with a feedback score of 23, 21 of which were with said seller. Now it's been relisted again for £110 + £9.95 postage. Bastard !

Perhaps not who you might have first thought (I don't have any problems with that gentleman ).Not a large feline, but he has 2. Wasn't sure if I could name and shame. It's annoyed me enough to report two of the seller's items that have sold to the same person and then been immediately relisted.

I've seen this one doing the rounds lately. As the seller is taking offers, why don't you offer him £20, tomorrow I'll offer him 21, get another member to offer 22 the day after & so on. Play him at his own game until he cracks & one of us gets lumbered with it.
I've seen 4 or 5 Sony branded Seiko dress watches sell on the Bay in the last year or two & they all 'sold' for £100-150ish which is a lot when you consider what they'd fetch if they didn't have Sony on the dial. None were Sportsmatics though so I guess he might well get someone to pay close to the asking price.

Stunned by that seller's actions, I was even more amazed at this, though no dishonesty is implied. How much would you pay for this ? The last (similar) one I bought cost me £15. So I guess I won't be offering the asking price of £200. surprised-scream-smiley-emoticon a102

Now reduced to £50 + p&p. I'm following this one to the death. laugh1.gif Just saw this one re-listed again after selling for £95. I had a quick look at the sellers feedback & found someone( just like you did) he'd sold to recently who has a feedback of 23 (same as the 'buyer' of this watch) & they've 'bought' over 20 items from this seller ! Mildly suspicious to say the least. If the guy is shill bidding on his own stuff, I personally wouldn't trust him one bit. There could be something nasty lurking inside that watch. He mentions a date inscribed inside the case back, so he's opened it but there's no photos of the movement JMHO & I could be completely wrong. I saw quite an expensive watch a few weeks ago that I wanted to bid on but the seller had a low feedback which when I checked on, I noticed his buyers had low F/B too & one of them was also selling Swiss watches & used EXACTLY the same font style, long flowery description & a payment method I'd never heard of. (No Paypal) Basically, I sussed out that the seller of the lot I was interested in had sold himself a watch (using a different username) & had even left himself feedback saying something like "This guy really knows what he's doing, superb watch & seller, highly recommended " etc etc ! I don't always have time to check stuff like that but am glad I did on this occasion. Caveat emptor.
