Interesting . . . . weird but interesting . . . . I didn't know that. If it's an early example, should it have a notched case? Only the first watches had that notched case. My Aug 69 has a notched case but my Aug 70 doesn't. Both are proof dials. I also had a March 70 resist dial watch so it was older than one of my proof watches and that had a notched case. Lots of small details to learn on these watches if you want to spot a wrong one from 50 paces. The watch in question which this post is about looks like it's the real deal to me. It's just been used to within an inch of it's life but to me it looks like it'll come up a treat and make a nice watch. Thanks Tony.

So I have this one is inbound. As some of you know I grabbed it for the bracelet. My question is what is going on with the watch? Dial code is 6139-6009T case back is marked 6139-6005 SER# 630014 Black dial with yellow inner bezel/indicator? Your thoughts That rotating ring is awesome. That could be the start to a great project. Lots of good parts there. Does it have the stem / crown? Wait, this is the reason you were asking me about yellow indicator rings? Ugh, I'm sorry, I assumed you were talking about the ones that had faded to white. This is a composite piece, made of two (at least) different watches. Well all I know right now, it's running, crown is missing Once I have it in hand I'll know more. I asked about the indicator rings because of my Pogue's faded one and all the talk about faded, painted, aftermarket opinions on the indicator rings. you were helpful is getting that sorted out. Once I get a closer look I may want to swap out my polished case for this one. the yellow indicator ring, Hmmm the thought had crossed my mind about swaping my faded one for the one in this.

That's a solid notion. The unfaded rings aren't easy to come by, and if I had it I'd sure use it, you bet. Build the best possible watch. The one you have coming is already a composite piece so making it a donor is just fine.

Hey with these older watch parts getting harder to find..might be just a good thing to hang onto it ..just in case...looks like either way you should be able to make the original one back to 100%

Nothing like coming home to a package and of course the look from the Wife. The 6139 arrived. I must say it's a winner all the way around. 15 links in a very nice bracelet original bracelet The Blue dial is blue, dirty but definitely will be a beauty again in the right hands, speaking of hands there good to. Picture is a bit fuzzy. There were some concerns voiced about moisture intrusion. I can see the stem. Don't know enough about that, it maybe broken off in there. watch is running, pushers don't work. All in all I think it's a :winner:

And the inner bezel/indicator is very very nice. And the bracelet on my 6139-6005 Need one link for this bracelet for it to be the perfect fit.

The yellow bezel on the parts watch will work great in place of the faded bezel on the yellow 6139.
