this is the new hot model and finally a limited edition that looks decent.
new bezel, dial and hands. rumor is the bezel insert is the same construction as the MM300, but take that with a grain of salt.
also diashield coated.

I like it! Definitely not an LE aimed at the Thai market

I've never really been sold on the sumo design. I always thought that the "nascar" style numerals on the bezel were weird.
Seeing this makes me realize that the numerals were in proportion, the smaller numbers don't really work with the case. The 62mas is so much smaller than the sumo that many of the borrowed elements don't really work. The 62mas hands are great, these are silly, especially so on this case. Why did they add a disk around the center of the hands? Why are we stuck with a printed logo? The best part of the 62mas (IMHO) is the big sharp markers. They borrowed that but instead made the markers' profile rounded? Why? This design just looks like a mess to me. Very disappointing.

I don't like the Sumo. I would never buy one. However the only bite I had on a trade post of mine was for an orange Sumo. Once I wore it it was a great watch and kept perfect time. It did not meet all of my criteria for the perfect watch which only a select few have but I wore the crap out of it for a short while til I sold it because it hogged all the wrist time. Now this model (aside from the hands) actually appeals to me aesthetically and given the previously hold the Sumo overall had on me I will definitely be passing on it so I won't have to sell in a few weeks later.

I think it looks good.
I like the raised square/trapezoidal markers and the stick+stoplight hands. Nice looking case, and much improved bezel (if a little too glossy). Love that they're keeping mechanical watches in the Prospex line.
My only real complaint is that this is a LE, as I think Seiko should be releasing more like this into the western market.

I like it much better than the original style, but wouldn't be a buyer.

in my opinion, while it is a nice watch etc. it looks too much like many other similar watches of the past and present. meaning the same hands and markers can be found in many different other models even from other brands. So no real innovation in my opinion.

I like it. I like it's simplicity and the touch of vintage. Agree that it is nothing spectacular when compared to older more iconic Seikos but it is imho a great step in the right direction. The current Sumo doesn't do much for me and think that they could've done better. Now this is something I can consider. This model will appeal to people like me who don't own a 62MAS or a proper 6105. It will fill in that need nicely with a modern case and movement.
