Dunno if Turkey is one of those HHCs, but that one is seriously screwed up. Must have been that orange Nato.

I'm lovin' it - my retirement fund is looking better and better every time one of these used and abused clunkers goes for big money! Bring on the $200 + beaters!!!!

Top dollar for sure, but I do like the wabi on that one.

Top dollar for sure, but I do like the wabi on that one. Yeah, I was gonna say... That actually looks very cool to me. Almost makes me want to sell my beater R dial one though...

I am very surprised how much they do go for....they must not realize how much parts and service will be

Re: wabi Bezel wear is kinda nice, but looking at that dial and handset makes me feel physically ill. Far from wabi (beauty in imperfection) IMO.

Not a fan. I reckon it's worth $100 at best.
It's been heavily abused and has had some hardcore moisture ingress.

Tones tips of the day:
Always make sure the chrono works and resets ok. The chrono center wheel is a bad design on both the A and the B movements and costs about £50GBP ($80) to replace.
Seconds hands are near on impossible to find new. Pattern ones are total crap. I've scrapped good watches just to get the hands and center wheels from them.
Make sure the inner bezel rotates as it costs £100GBP ($155) to replace the crown, stem, gear and spring.

These were soooo cheap for soooo long that prices really only had one way to go.
Fortunately for those still looking, they are still a pretty common watch. Just not as cheap as they used to be.

Recently I've heard of 3 seriously wealthy guys putting money into classic Seiko watches as a 5 to 10 year investment. When guys rich enough to own the city I live in start buying Seikos as a short term investment I'd say now is the time to buy

Recently I've heard of 3 seriously wealthy guys putting money into classic Seiko watches as a 5 to 10 year investment. When guys rich enough to own the city I live in start buying Seikos as a short term investment I'd say now is the time to buy I'd love to know which classic Seikos these seriously wealthy guys are putting their money into. 6139's generally go for £100 - £500 depending on condition and model and if you are a proper investor you'd need to be hoovering them up at a considerable rate to see any meaningful return if you are truly wealthy, otherwise its just chump change to those who have the funds. Over the long term (3+ years) then I have no doubt that there's some money to be made but it'll be a very long time before the hedge fund manager's start logging in here looking to diversify their portfolio.
