the ultrasonic is the only way to properly clean a band....i used to think i could clean one till i got mine...i use it on every band since and all i use is white vinegar and they turn out great too and very reasonable cost too...God Bless John

Reminds me that I've been needing to clean my bracelet. Never heard of using white vinegar. I assume its safe to use on all stainless parts?

Question, when you use a ultrasonic cleaner does it strip all the lubrication out of the bracelet to the pint where it rattles? Because I have had to lubricate some of my bracelet's to make them bearable.

It is also used as an ingredient in the stop bath used in black and white photography. If it were me I would test it before using it on a 40 year old bracelet.

I bought this watch 2nd hand, knowing that I'd be able to buy parts to restore the worn case parts. When it arrived, I re-sized the bracelet and wore it a couple of times. Then I decided to strip it down and work out what parts I needed. I was horrified with what I found .... scary stuff ...............

well i have used it on all of my watches and have seen not ill effects...but i do not leave it soaking for days ....you could cut it by 50% dilute it with water ...it really cleans and the stainless is very tough stuff too...i would not use vinegar on dials or anything with a painted surface...or with plastic...if in doubt...test it on a small area... Jubilee bracelets with hollow inner links also do a good job of trapping years worth of sweat, hairs and DNA and its shocking to see some of the muck that comes out of them. I think I need to take a shower now...

The few G-shocks I haved owned and taken apart over the years have all looked like this. I think the tolerances are so close on the case it is to hard to get water in there to keep it clean when in the shower. Maybe a water pick could work on them but I don't know.

Just to reassure readers that my G-Shock did clean up (in a combination of ultrasonic bath and ultrasonic toothbrush) and looks pretty much like new now
