I have always loved time pieces and have quiet a few now, but nothing special . I was going through my "collection" and decided I needed to concentrate on one brand or type of watch. I really believe that the Seiko brand is a good watch and has an interesting good looking watches that I would like to collect. It all started with this watch. I bought this watch in 1973 in Kaohsiung Taiwan when I was in the U.S. Navy. I had always wanted a nice watch and had saved to buy this one for, if memory serves, about $55.00 U.S. which was a good sum considering I made less than $200/month. I wore this watch daily for the next 25+ years before it stopped. I used many other more modern watches but have always wanted this to be repaired. It has always been my favorite. Getting it repaired has not been easy. First try was the Seiko repair center that said they would not work on it because of the hazardous material that was used to make the hands glow. I have had it repaired by other people two times. Both times, the watch worked for about 4-5 months before it stopped again and the repair shops would not fix it again. I have no idea if this watch is even worth repairing, but would like to, if it isn't too expensive. I still love it and it has traveled the world with me. I joined in an attempt to find someone to fix this watch, but to also learn about the Seiko brand and other watches that I may want to purchase. attachment (1 B)attachment (1 B)
