I am selling a couple of my watches to help pay a bill or two and I have a couple for sale on the Bay but what I dont understand is this.......... One of the watches has a bid on it already which is fine but the reserve price on it has not been met yet. I got 2 Emails last night from a prospective buyer (NOT the one who already bid on it) who has yet to bid on it and he wanted to buy it and send me a Money Order. (I never replied back to him to verify) and within minutes of the first E-mail I received another from him asking me if I would end the auction as payment had been sent already? WTF? The reserve hasnt been met yet and is clearly below what I am willing to sell it for! When the MO arrives do I simply send it back and tell him No Thank you or what do I do? How also would he know where to even send the MO to? I'm confused! TIA

Sounds like typical eBay clientele.
If I were you, I would tell him there wasn't an agreed upon price, so nobody should be paying anybody just yet, so he should cancel his money order (whether or not it even exists) and that on arrival you will destroy the physical copy.
No reason for you to deal with the extra hassle/expense of shipping his money order back to him, implicitly accepting ownership of the funds in the interim. Let him deal with the mess of his own making.
I'd do it as pleasantly as possible to protect your reviews and more - presumably this guy knows where you live.

I have his so called phone number he left on his E-mail and I just texted him a few minutes ago so we shall see what happens I think I will call him as he lives in Ca. and see what he has to say about it! Maybe he thought he was bidding on something else but I doubt it as he directly linked the watch in question in his mail. I'll take a pic (if and when such MO arrives) of the MO and simply scratch across the front of it with a pen and send it back to him!

Unless you gave him your address or put it in the auction description he has no way to send you a money order.
Add him to your blocked bidder list and ignore him.

I would do what was already stated (1) be polite (2) only use eBay messaging (3) do not contact directly

And with your phone number he can find out where you live...unless you use a burner phone which I highly doubt. Were the original e-mails through eBay or did you put your e-mail address in the auction? Always use messaging thru eBay.

Scammer for sure. Chances are that if you ignore him he'll go away. Best case, he just wanted to fool you into ending the auction early by saying he'd already paid.
Worst case?

John, Once he has the phone number, he can do a 'reverse lookup' to get the address and name of the caller/texter.

I guess all those tv cop/criminal investigation shows have it wrong then You'll notice they can never find the owners of 'burner' phones; those ones you buy at the convenience store with a minumum amount of prepaid air time. But people who have cell pone contracts/plans are registered and their info is just as easy to look up as a land line. Perhaps you and I don't have clearance to do that but the authorities do...they were given those rights by the P.A.T.R.I.O.T. Act :-/

Yep, the authorities can do it, but I doubt your average scammer can.
I'm about to test PayPal's buyer protection over an ipod I got sold after putting up a WTB. I realised too late (after paying) that the seller's pictures didn't match his text (I now think they were web pics). Three days later and they haven't provided a tracking number, answered or returned my calls, or responded to texts. Since they agreed to express post it should have been here by now.
