Maybe this baby doesn't have the gravitas of the previous chronometer unveiling, but it does feature some stylish touches of it's own
Speaking of the previous unveiling, there you would have seen these five pictures.
But now it is time to open the smaller bundle out of that second box. Like the previous pair, this one is showing a bracelet.
There it is, a 1960s Seiko Self Dater, with the Cal 395 movement. It is sporting an attractive but really odd MaruMan bracelet! I could do a whole post of its own on that bracelet, with it's ratcheting clasp and strange end-links that have to be separated from the last bracelet link to be installed.
Looking at this handsome watch, you can see some of the stylish touches I bought it for, like the rarer 3D spinning top logo, the blue 50 text and sunburst dial texture. Also the 39 jewel "395" movement was consider the highest quality automatic movement in Seikos stable in early 1960s, lacking only the fine adjuster that the 6218 movement added.

And there is that odd bracelet. Unfortunately the whale with crown and "39" engraving is almost completely worn smooth on the case-back, so I didn't think it was worth showing you a shiny, smooth, silver case-back.
And here it is after I replaced that bracelet with a handsome back strap.
I know this was probably an anti-climax after the Hi-Beat King Seiko certified chronometer, so to try and make up for it here is a bonus group shot, of the "Spring #1 - #4" acquisitions.
