I used my new Bergeon spring bar remover to take off the bracelet of my SARB035. Piece of p*ss with the right tool. I put on this nice leather strap that I'd bought specially, as I'm not a big bracelet fan. But I'm not convinced. The bracelet is solid, and I mean really solid ! It suits the watch and is an exceptionally good fit.

Well now, I, for the most part prefer a bracelet. And I have to say that this watch looks really good on that bracelet!

I think the strap classes it up.

Going pro eh Bergeon tools what next? I know you are a strapman and in the most part I can understand that but to me the Seiko 035 head is dumpy and looks odd on a strap, the bracelet seems to proportionalize it better. The bracelet is a good one too and feels great with not a sharp edge anywhere.

Going pro eh Bergeon tools what next? It is my watch related purchase for the month ! Cars (his and hers) have already cost a fortune and it's only the 1st, so no spare dosh for watches. The Sarb is back on the bracelet. I've now got a spare 20mm strap. Maybe I'll find something to put it on for next month

Sporty vs Dress - Hot Weather vs. Cold For me the watch looks a lot more "sporty" on the bracelet, and more "dressy" on the strap. So there's that. Although I can still get away with the brown strap if it matches what I am wearing, like blue jeans with a brown belt and brown shoes. Also, my extremities (head, hands and feet) sweat profusely in the hot weather when I exert myself, so I'm often climate restricted to the bracelet, or I would ruin the leather strap very quickly. Not to say that I cannot wear the strap if I am being chauffeured to an summer evening at the symphony, or simliar. :-D - Thomas

I think that part of the problem is that I have small wrists and you don't actually see much of the strap. Somehow yours looks so much better Thomas. Laid out flat it looks great (lousy pic, light was going when I took it)

You asked, so I'll toss in my 2 cents: Bracelet only. Looks odd on the strap. To me brown straps are hard to pull off, need to be just the right dial or a gold watch. Thomas, brown shoes and belt with blue jeans? You're a man of impeccable taste in watches ! How can you ??

The watch will look good on either depending on what you want to wear it for. Bracelets are easy but getting the right strap to compliment this dial is a little more difficult. Of the straps shown in the thread, all have too much red in them and the gross texture of the croc or alligator is also a mismatch. I would look for a nice plain 'tobacco' coloured strap in either a flat finish or at most a nice buffalo texture. The colour and the fine texture will add warmth that will compliment the dial while not distracting from it. This is an example of what I mean... I'm sure you can see the difference between this and the other straps with more red in them. It's all about balance; getting the colours to jive and not have one dominant over the other or just plain distracting.
